This, especially Ellington. No reason why he couldn't be like a Julian Edelman type of player.
Ellington and Patton are as fast and shifty, if not more so than Edelman and Amendola. The way the Pats used Gronk is the way that Vernon should be used if he can still play, taking occasional deep shots with him when there was a mismatch in coverage. The one major difference in the WR core make up is Lafell, who I think was a very underrated piece of that offense this year. He's a big target who if left one on one can usually haul in the ball, and he can also get down the field. He wasn't huge on the stat sheet last night, but the de had to account for him, leaving Edelman/Amendola/Vereen underneath for short passes and YAC.

Fortunately there seems to be quite a few good prospects who fit that profile in the draft. Strong, Parker, DGB, White (if hes actually as tall as listed) and some more under the radar guys later on. I think that's the missing piece to the WR core. Most people say burner but NE doesn't have a "true" burner, nor does GB or Dallas. I think a big body that creates size/speed mismatches is just as good, if not better, than a pure speed guy for threatening defenses vertically (Jordy, Dez, AJ, Marshall), a major reason being, obviously, these guys have a significant size advantage over most corners and don't necessarily even need to be very open to win the ball.

After watching the Super Bowl we saw the LOB have some issues...mainly with small/quick wide receivers. J Edelman, T.Y Hilton, E Royal, and R Cobb have all had some success against this guys.

Who are some of the players in this draft that fit this mold??

Totally agree, Ellington and Patton need reps, always liked Patton's upside.

Same.
We have the guys in Quinton Patton and Bruce Ellington. I want the deep threat that will keep those safeties backed up and open up things more underneath. Truth be told, completely healthy, we have a team that can beat Seattle now. Adding in more talent will only make it easier scheme wise.
Addition by subtraction. Roman gone.

I thank you.
I would like to see Ellington and Patton get more reps (please no more old WR vets) But honestly we do need something more at the position.

I really don't agree with you...I don't think offensively we have a team that can beat them at this point.

Healthy we will whip them. With decent playcalling.

we've been saying this for years, Baalke doesn't care....

Lockett will be a real good shifty/quick WR
AJ Jenkins? Ellington? yep, he doesn't care at all...
I like Dorsett from the U as well. Seattle's pass rush and speed in the secondary is phenomenal- you need a guy who can get open quick and scare them deep.

Desean Jackson would've been ideal last year, and a guy like TY Hilton is the solution. I think Dorsett might be that guy in Rd 2-3.

Hope your right

It will be interesting to see what Seattle does in the off season.

I can't stand the LOB as much as the next Zoner but they were really banged up and it showed. I didn't hear Earl Thomas' name the whole game.

That tends to happen when you have a safety playing deep and the opposing offense is dinking and dunking their way down the field with 5 yard passes.
