Tomsula's input on 2015 #1 pick?

If they really are switching to a 4-3, I'm expecting a DT.

If Tomsula likes a guy with blown ACL , then he might get some ear

Ditto. Maybe an outside chance of a tweener/play maker in Shaq Thompson.

Agree.

Allot will depend on the OC.

I'd love getting White.

This is literally what I came into this thread to post.
I'm expecting a big guy ala Shelton or Brown from Texas.

If we could get Leonard Williams, that'd be nice. But that opportunity cost of that might prove to be too high, and I don't think getting 1 good D-lineman fixes our biggest needs.

A DT, depth at OLB...ie....a 4-3 guy that can fly around and cover. WR certainly is a big need no matter what. Another RB for depth. CB.
Tomsula is a gloried cheerleader...it's all Baalke.
I think maybe we will get our receiver in the 1st....I think we will move down a couple spots for dgb....add a de in the 2nd...with the xtra 3rd rd pick from moving back in the 1st I think we'll pick a cb and a ot that can run block and pass protect then stockpile picks with next season in mind.....I predict q. patton to have a breakout year
I wonder if Mike Bennett from Ohio State becomes a possibility now, love the guy's motor and his ability to wreak havoc across the middle.

I was thinking him, and honestly now Shaq Thompson seems like a good move.
He's got that Cam Chancellor presence, someone that can act as a OLB and play SS (I'm assuming Ward backs up Reid in the 4-3 and not Bethea)

Plus, Thompson's versatility makes it seem like a Baalke pick.

Absolutely stupid question. Even Harbaugh had to just accept Baalke's roster moves. Also, we have far better record of developing lower picks on defense anyway. I'd take some convincing it's sensible to go anywhere except WR at 15.

I'm also hoping for Kevin White.

As for the original post, Baalke drafts and Tomsula teaches them to bludgeon.
Baalke probably already had a scheme in mind, so I don't think Tomsula would influence the type of player. Tomsula's influence, if any, will probably have more to do with his observations of a player's interview, combine, and workout performance.

This, Thompson now becomes an intriguing possibility due to his versatility. He could be the Delanie Walker type player on the defense.
I'd bet he'll have an influence on who Baalke takes...given the DL's situation, I think Goldman's the guy. Big, versatile, tough, just a darn good DL.
Tomsula has about as much say as everyone on this forum...
