No such thing as a shut down corner anymore...so I'll take the #1 WR. Especially if we're talking about this team(which I'm assuming we are)

At anytime in the NFL there are maybe 2 real shutdown corners.

I'll take the greatest receiver of all time (Jerry Rice) over the greatest corner of all time. No one could shut Jerry Rice down. Not even arguably the best cover corner of all time, Deion Sanders.

Plus it's obvious this team needs a #1 wide receiver much more than they do a shutdown corner. We had the 5th ranked pass defense with a bunch of second and third stringers in there. Meanwhile, our offense struggled because we didn't have a receiver that could stretch the field and demand attention from multiple defenders.

This....it's a no brainer. A true shutdown corner is extremely rare.
