Ahmad Brooks for a 6th or 7th is almost as bad as Terrell Owens for Brandon Whiting.

Even Jamie Winborn and Cam Johnson netted 7th round picks.

Except he was out of shape and had attitude issues in the beginning and near the end of the season. With the size of his contract, I don't think many teams would take the bait.

Cleveland´s total 2015 Cap Number at this point is $104,018,310 and they don´t have a lot of expensive FA´s either (Rubin, Austin, Sheard and Hoyer are the Top4).

They also have a ton of draft picks this year.

Cleveland Browns 2015 Draft Selection

1st Round
1st Round
2nd Round
3th Round
4ht Round
4ht Round
5th Round
6th Round

7th Round

The capacity is there. At the end it comes down to how much A.Brooks is worth on the open market.

Stats After 23 Games

86 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 17 sacks

Draft Utopia

A 6-foot-5 and 315-pound defensive tackle with the footwork and block shedding necessary for playing in the NFL. The FCS stud displays the rip moves and swim moves that NFL scouts look for. If this guy makes good choices he will be a steal on draft day. Book it.

Replace Tevin Coleman with Duke Johnson and we may have something here.

If you people haven't caught on, got a big man-crush for Duke Johnson.....no homo.

Just saw this post and I agree. Since the bye (Week 9 vs Rams - Week 17 vs Cardinals) he looked at least similar to the old Boone.

+10.4 overal grade and +5.9 pass pro by PFF (12th and 7th in the NFL).

Good stuff, DeUh.

Odrick in FA is a good move. I really hope Cowboy decides to complete his contract and play one more year, but if not, we should look to spend some money in FA for a 3-4 DE. Odrick has experience there and is solid.

Like the emphasis on speed in the draft with the WRs and RB. Coleman reminds me a bit of DeMarco Murray.

Only things I would add is another corner in the draft on Day 2. Brock, Culliver, and Johnson are solid but it has the potential to be a problem injuries linger (Brock) or one of them drops off (Culliver, Johnson). Also agree we have to choose between Culliver and Cox. Won't re-sign both, might even lose both.
Wonderful job! As a reminder, we most likely will need to sign Cox because Cully will be suspended due to his outstanding legal issues (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24505004/ers-chris-culliver-arrested-facing-felony-hit-and-run-charges]. These are series charges in California and he'll most likely have to spend some time in jail as well during the offseason.
What males CB so difficult to figure out were the injuries to Brock and Ward. I mean they are both big question marks heading into the season. So a lot really depends on how they perform.

Yes. Especially from the outside looking in.

Nice mock draft, love your posts! One thing though, how realistic of a possibility is it to get Kevin White at our spot?

White and Parker are the most ideal WR for the team, but in a lot of other draft projections they are both picked by Browns and Vikings respectively, especially if the former gets rid of Gordon. Parker is constantly linked to the Vikings partly because of that Bridgewater connection. A number of mocks even have the Rams picking White. Jets and Dolphins could also be possibilities. Both of their stocks could really rise over the offseason and be just out of our reach.

If both are gone, what would be the ideal pick for WR at #15? Strong is intriguing and a great playmaker. There are comparisons of him to Colston, but I can also see Alshon Jeffrey and a younger Boldin in his game especially if we can find a good WR to develop him. Not a burner but he seems to have good enough breakaway speed. Also read he has a great work ethic, instincts, and high football IQ to more than make up for the lack of speed.

Greene looks good too. Not sure about Coates unless once again we can find a good WR coach. There are plenty of deep threats we can get later who can at least be a good #2 or #3. Just hoping we can finally find our true #1 WR.

I wouldn't let Cox walk...at times he was the best CB on the field for Fangio this season. With Culliver being an UFA, no guarantees Baalke can re-sign him...all the more reason to keep Perrish, a very versatile DB.

With Ray Mac gone and Justin Smith's status unknown, I can't think of any reason Baalke wouldn't take the best DL on the board in the 1st rd. For me, that's clearly Leonard Williams. Even if Justin returns, he's in the twilight of his career and now's the time to draft his replacement.

I surely wouldn't take a RB in the 2nd rd...not assuming Gore's back, with Hyde and Hunter (whom you seemingly forgot) returning. WR is a possibility...White, if he's still on the board in the 2nd...if not, maybe Jaelen Strong or Duke Williams.

Agree, Iupati walks...but they have OG Brandon Thomas returning from NFI list. With Boone, Kilgore, Looney & Marcus Martin on board, it'd seem more valuable to take an OT who can also play OG in a pinch. OT is simply a bigger need, IMHO.

Like the Grayson pick...dude's got a strong arm, has some athleticism, is tough and an exceptional leader.

Couldn't find Hardison anywhere on Walter's Football draft prospects.

Didn't see a TE on your list...given Vernon all but disappeared this season and the unknown quality of both McDonald and Celek, I'd be amazed if Baalke doesn't draft a playmaking TE.

I saw Odrick play a few times this season and wasn't impressed...I get he can play both DE and DT, but again, I wasn't impressed. Admittedly, I haven't looked at FA's very much, but I'm thinking Baalke might be able to do better than Odrick.

It's still very early in the draft process...underclassmen still have 'til 15 Jan to declare.

Thanks for the response.

1. Perrish Cox is also a UFA. Let Walk -> Not Re-Sign.

2. There is no way Leonard Williams makes it to our pick or even remotely close. Zero chance. It´s a s**tty class to have a need for a 3-4 DE Day1 starter IMO. That´s why I went the FA route with this mock.

3. No I did not forget Kendall Hunter. Healthy he is one of my favorite player on the roster. But after 2 severe injuries I woudn´t bet my season or future on him. Tevin Coleman is the real deal and every bit as fast as Hunter. He is powerful, has crazy explosiveness, vision, can catch and ran for over 2,000 yards behind a weak OL when everyone knew what was coming. They simply coudn´t stop him

A Hyde/Coleman combo behind a healthy OL. Watch out.

4. Jarvis Harrison is not just a OG. If needed he can easily play Tackle. In fact he did exactly that this season. He played LT vs Missouri and went up against Shane Ray (a top talent pass rusher in this class) and looked more than solid.

Here is the OL for my 53 Man Roster Projection

OT: Joe Staley, Anthony Davis, Jermey Parnell
OG: Alex Boone, Brandon Thomas, Joe Looney, Jarvis Harrison
C: Daniel Kilgore, Marcus Martin

I like that.

5. Yeah I saw that too. I can guarantee you that will change over time. Still early in the draft process.

6. I don´t see any TE in this class that would give us a significant upgrade over what we already have. If Maxx Williams really makes it to the 3th round count me as interested. But as a blocker Vance eats him alive. Virgil Green (Broncos) is a FA I like.

7. Here is a short list of available DL in FA

Stephen Paea
Nick Fairley
Jared Odrick
Kenrick Ellis
Tommy Kelly
Cory Redding
Allen Bailey
Alan Branch
Leger Douzable
Kenrick Ellis
CJ Wilson
Cedric Thornton
Ricardo Matthews

*in no particular order

If no one jumps in front of us I think there is a real chance that Kevin White is on the board when we pick.

A lot of the teams ahead of us have a real need for a QB, Pass Rusher, OL, BPA on Defense, maybe even RB. I would be surprised if neither Cooper, Parker or White make it to 15

Nonetheless IF all 3 are gone here are a few other ones I´m interested in (NOT at 15):

Rashad Greene
Justin Hardy
Jaelen Strong
Sammie Coates
Vince Mayle
DeAndre Smelter

*not sure if D'haquille Williams and Dorial Green-Beckham are gonna declare, torn on Funchess
