Never, ever draft a player in the first few rounds who doesn't have naturally good hands.

If Coates sits there at the start of the 2nd and we pass on him I will lose it. He is just inconsistent. When healthy and hot he is almost unstoppable downfield.

I'm down for Coates in the 2nd and a DL in the 1st
No Funchen way
If we draft a receiver in the 1st round he better have speed and great hands.

No, it does.
Coates has better hands than Funch.

Funch looks to be a possesion type WR.
Coates is a guy who can burn players and stretch our field to get pressure off our running game (I said that in my mock)

Why would we draft someone to play crabs/Boldins position when they can't catch?
Vernon has stone hands and did just fine (2013) playing the role I want Coates to play

I agree with your take on Coates and like you I´m a huge fan. Still, at this point he is first and foremost a downfield receiver and he struggles with drops while being that donwfield receiver.

So until he catches long throws with more consistency his hands are a problem and thats why I did not understand your analogy in this thread.

I hope we can take Coates in the 2nd round because I think he can play the Torrey Smith role for us in the future.

Not a fan of Funchess at 15

By the way

What is yourr take on Tony Washington OLB/DE Oregon ?

I agree at 15 we can do much better...we don't need another WR or te with s**tty hands. I personally want a stud d lineman before a wr

DGB

AND not bring too much baggage with him - we've had enough drama lately.

Yeah from what I've read I'll pass on him...

My pipe dream is trading Harbs (making Gase the HC) to Oakland for their 1st grabbing Leonard Williams then taking DGB or White at 15

BUT judging on Baalke's past they will trade down and grab some underwhelming WR in the 3rd SMH

I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE for this scenario to happen!
