wow Joyner in round 1? a center in the 2nd round after extending Kilgore? Huff in round 2? I don't like anything about this draft except I'm intrigued by Easley.

come on, it aint that bad.
joiner's one of a few stud players in this draft. doesn't look the part, but plays the part. tone setter.
that center's nothing special, so he seems like a small reach to me, but we need a center (kilgore's not starting material), and the guy is bull-strong enough to survive in the trenches.
if huff refines his game, he has the athletic tools to be a really good #2. again, maybe a slight reach; but, drafting at the end of a round forces your hand sometimes.
same with thomas. if a few teams like him in that 4th rd area, and you're drafting late, you make the pick early to get him. if harbaugh thinks the guy is educable, you know he'll pick him this early, since his measureables are up there.
that corner is good, nfl talent--but kind of a slot guy, so it seems a little redundant. good talent, though.

And to think, I really used to defend this guy and follow him. I literally cant stand Mayock and this guy is starting to ware on me as well.

I like Mayock, Charlie Casserlie, Brian Baldinger, Bill Polian

Cant Stand Kiper, Charles Davis, (sometimes) Todd McShay

Top needs: CB, WR, C, DL

Round 1 (30) CB Lamarcus Joyner, Florida St.
Round 2 (56) C Marcus Martin, USC (from KC)
Round 2 (61) WR Josh Huff, Oregon
Round 3 (77) DT Dominique Easley, Florida (from TEN)
Round 3 (94) CB Nevin Lawson, Utah St.
Round 3 (100) QB/TE Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech (Comp)

Analysis: This draft sequence is something of a bet that the offensive line remains relatively stable if I get the needed help at center (Martin), and that even if NaVorro Bowman takes his time coming back, the linebacking corps will remain solid. The early priority is grabbing a capable corner, and Joyner can provide impact right away as a Tyrann Mathieu-type, a guy who can play corner, particularly in the slot, and provide time at safety. Huff isn't a burner, but he's more of a developmental project than some other receivers who will be taken in this range. Easley is an early-first round talent coming back from yet another knee injury, but at this point in the draft, getting that kind of talent is worth the shot. If he can spell Ray McDonald and Justin Smith effectively, everyone gets better. I like Lawson as a sleeper and possible corner help, and I love the idea of letting Jim Harbaugh work with Thomas as a developmental project at either QB or tight end. (Thomas really could pull off the conversion if he wanted to.)

This draft would piss me off because of the Huff pick so high, wouldn't give our 5th for him

The bolded are good players though

I hear that and he is a short WR and is too slow in my two cents of Huff. We need a beast WR that can free up Vernon Davis.
Scale of 1 to 10
Negative 14.

Please retire Kiper.
Have to love Kiper...makes all of our mocks look good by contrast!
At east now we know what won't happen come draft day.

Although, I am fairly sure that Logan Thomas has JH reclamation project written all over him. I have said this pretty consistently in some of the draft threads and think that we will take a long hard look at him with one of our comp/later picks. Huge arm, very athletic, prototypical size, not a bad runner either. Having said that, horrible mechanics, sloppy footwork, inaccurate, does not anticipate much and relies on arm strength. Anyways, I would be happy to take a chance on Thomas but later than the 3rd round IMO.
Thomas in the 3rd is the only really god awful pick

I like Joyner but in the first?
At best - TERRIBLE!

A Center at #2!!!
After resigning Kilgore who is going to be VERY good. Oh yeah, our head coach and OLine coach don't know crap. And neither does our GM - please, give me a break.

I mean, they are probably thinking - yeah Kilgore isn't starting caliber so let's resign him and then draft a Center w/our 2nd pick. NOT![

Mel - I think that crap you put on your hair has effected your brain.

BTW, last draft season Charles Davis was the only guy who was HUGE on Reid. He kept saying whoever got him would have the best S in the draft. Others were all about Vaccaro.

Only pick I like is the Joyner pick.

In my mock, I have us taking him with out first pick in the 2nd round, but there's a possibility he'd be gone by then, so I could understand if we took him with our 1st. The guy, although people knock him for his size, is a legit DB and very much like Tyrann Mathieu as far as his versatility and awareness on the field.

I like Huff but LOL'd when he had us taking him in the 2nd round.
