94: Lamarcus Joyner(CB/S): Just a flat out playmaker. Can step in anp play the nickel CB spot. The guy is all over and is waiting to make a play.

100: Antone Exum(CB): Anther Baalke special. This guy is going to be a stud.

4th round:

129: Daniel McCullers(DT): A big guy to plug the middle. We have the best D line coach in the business and he can do some work with this 6'7'' 350 pound man. He can get a push and force RB's ways that they don't want to go.

5th round:

170: Spencer Long(G): A guy to keep on the IR for the year and let him come in frsh for a shot at a starting spot if Iupati leaves

6th round:

7th round:

242: Trey Millard(H-Back/FB/TE): A D Walk replacement

243: Colt Lyerla(TE): Big fast TE with some problems

245: Logan Thomas(QB): If he can't play QB, try him at TE.

Like the bolded picks you have. I hope Joyner falls that far but I don't think he will. Also we might need to address the ILB concern..
We might need to spend a 3/4th on a ILB like Barrow from LSU

Also I used to think we could nab Tuitt with our second pick, but I don't think that is very realistic anymore. What draft ranking did you use?

For example, Tuitt plays DT/DE IMO the rankings for DT/DE this year are The only guys I have going in front of Tuitt this year are
1. Jadaveon Clowney
2. Tim Jernigan
3. Kony Ealy
4. Ra'Shede Hageman
5. Aaron Donald
6. Louis Nix


The earliest we are drafting in the second is pick #56
1. Clowney is probably going within the first 5 picks (I have him going to the Raiders or Falcons) #5/6
2. Jernigan is going to the Giants (they just lost Tuck Joseph) #12
3. Steelers could pick up a D-lineman here, although they will probably go with a corner but their second pick is still before ours and they need to help on that D-line I see them taking Aaron Donald here #15
4. Cowboys are going to take a D-lineman here, losing Ware and Hatcher leaves it exposed and they are going to bring in Ra'Shede Hageman here #16 (or they get him second round still before ours)
5. The Pack. Our playoff game against them last season showed why they need help on the D-line. Not to mention a pass rusher. I see them taking Ealy either with this pick or they could in their second round. #21
6. Last on this board is Louis Nix, I see the Chargers taking him with pick #25

You might disagree with what players I have getting drafted by their respected teams, But I'm only on the 25th pick, barely over halfway to our #56 and I already have 6 D-lineman going off the board.
Not to mention we haven't even gotten to teams behind that I see the Hawks (in the first round) Pats, Bengals, Eagles, Bears, and Jags taking a D-lineman in the second round.

I like it. Covers all our needs.

I think Tuitt could be gone as well. I would take Tuitt with 30, move Moncrief to 56, Joyner to 61, and put Paul Richardson in at the 94 spot. I think Whilhoit and Moody will be fine at the MLB spot. Moody fits the WIllis and Bowman mold.

The problem is I wanted somebody with 1st round talent like Verrett or Fuller to come in and help our secondary (especially with Culliver being an idiot).
I think it needs more help than the D-line but I can see why we would want Tuitt 1st round.

I thought about a 1st round CB as well, but then I looked at what Baalke like to do at that spot and he gets guys late like in the 3rd round or lower. He even has an eye for the undrafted guys. I think Joyner in the 2nd fills the nickel CB need and the other 2 CB's in the 3rd seen like Baalke guys and can develop into solid starters. Keep the DL and OL strong and keep developing CB's and WR's.

Good mock and I think a lot of people have Tuitt falling b/c they see a run at CB or WR. Maybe even both positions. And that will just push him down. If Niners don't take him at 30 I don't see him being around when they pick again. Nice mock.

I'm not sure if that's Baalke's philosophy or him just looking at the roster. The last 3 years the team has been set at starting CB. Really wasn't a need for a 1st round selection. You always take guys you like at the position in later rounds and hope good coaching makes them reach their potential. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 1st round CB and a 3rd/5th round CB added as well.

Same here. This draft is loaded and can go either way and we have a ton of picks so we should add a ton of good players for depth and starters in the future. I can see us taking a CB in the 1st or waiting until the 2nd and 3rd, but I do think we add 2 or 3.

You had me 'til Richardson...yeah, he's fast and all, but he's also a rather spindly 6' 170 lbs. You have your speed guy in Moncrief...who's also big. Why not take another...Adams, Bryant. Even a shorter guy like Herron would be a handful to match up with. Donte Johnson's an interesting guy...I like the size and speed, for sure. I like Exum for the same reasons. Another possibility is Pierre Desir...also great size and has the length Baalke likes so much. I'd just echo the comments WRT taking an ILB...even though Bowman's progressing well, he's coming off a serious injury and he's too valuable to rush back onto the field. Have faith in Wilhoite (and thank God we have him), but they'll need someone to back him up. Overall, I like your mock a lot.

True on Richardson. I don't really like him, just plugged him in on the fly because I had to move Tuitt up to get him at 30 and also moved Joyner up. I wouldn't mind a MLB or a different WR at that spot. I didn't think Bryant would be there, if he is you take him over Richardson easy.

I think Moody will be pretty good. He is built like Willis and Bowman and we have Whilhoit and Skuta can also play MLB. I wouldn't mind a MLB in the 4th or 5th.

I like the draft. I would probably pass on the 2nd DL because we are already adding Tank and Dial plus Williams who only played 1 game last year, add Tuitt and that makes 4 DL's added. We don't really need a 5th. I would rather wait and see how the players we have perform and take a different player with the 4th round pick.
