Dontae Johnson anyone? He's big 6'2 200, athletic 4.45 40 38.5 vert, and has experience at safety and nickel. Can be had later in the draft.

He sucks.
Was channeling my inner susweel there. I haven't seen enough of N.C. State to really make any sort of determination on him, but as you mentioned, he has some nice measurables. He's had some very good games from what I can see, shut down Campanaro, seems to have have done well against slot receivers, certainly has good size for a safety.

Might be worth a look later in the draft

Dontae Johnson said he turned down a scholarship offer from Jim Harbaugh and Stanford to stay closer to his home in New Jersey.

Good call. Someone mentioned Dashon Goldson, and I think he would need developmental time like Dashon also.

Jim wanted eric reid too before, now Jimbo has another player he wanted in college. We know how Reid turned out, let's hope Dontae get's it done for us on the field.

Innocent question, as I thought Desir would be a steal at this pick. Why'd we take Johnson over Desir?

DJ is a big CB, 6-2, 200...had 82 tackles, 5 for loss, 3 picks. He'll likely be a press CB for Fangio. With him and Cook, he's got two big CB's to play press coverage...will present a different look, which is a good thing.
