Herron instead of Ellington?

One of the great questions that none of us can answer, is what does the FO think of Darryl Morris. If they believe that Brock, Culliver, Morris - slot CB, Cox are all available then they can take some risks at CB and get some other people in like Watkins, Desir, Chris Davis. I think FS/SS is a bigger issue. Is there a FS that can come in as a rookie and have Reid move to SS? Can we get that person without selling the farm?

True, but that applies to a lot of other guys as well including Wilhoite, Kilgore.....etc.

I don't see safety being as big of an issue because by all signs, Whitner seems to be a guy that the 49ers are really intent on re-signing. With the cap moving up as high as $135 million potentially, Boldin and Whitner seem to be very likely to be re-signed.

I kind of went back and forth over it but I really like Ellington. He played in the SEC and did well against some very tough opponents. He has great hands, quickness as well as good speed downfield and more importantly, while at South Carolina, it was thought that he focused more of his attention on basketball than football. I'd like to see what he looks like dedicating all his attention towards football. He had a great combine and is a very underrated prospect with a nice build for his size.

Dangit Phoenix, you get me sold on Herron and now you want to take him away from me.

True so each of these issues will create a change of some kind in the draft board for the Niners. So that keeps opening up the door for a Dlineman. So with Tuitt with a foot fracture, that leaves us open for Hageman or some other person that becomes BPA.

I believe that too and wouldn't be disappointed if they go that route, a guy like Hageman in the first won't be bad at all.

I think that the 49ers would be lucky with either one.
Nice mock
Probably best DB in the first round.

Moncrief and Ellington

Plus the other guys...I'm buying!
I was initially on the center band wagon too. But I think the Niners get better value by bringing in a bargain veteran and letting the vet compete with Kilgore. Center is the qb of the line, and they need experience in that position.

Moncrief ran a 4.40 flat, had a 1.50 10yd split, and had a 39.5in vertical at 6'2 226. How is that crabtree-like in any sense?

Thanks. I didn't realize he was that fast. You're right. I want them to draft elite speed and that might fit the bill.

I'll be surprised if much of this mock has anything to do with reality. I don't see them drafting a 5-9 corner in the first round. I don't see them drafting another possession receiver with their second pick, especially one who is basically the same size and speed as Crabtree. I don't see them using their third pick on a center with Kilgore sitting there. Huff? Okay, I'll buy that. A 5-9 receiver? I don't think so unless it's Brandon Cooks who has Percy Harvin speed and quickness and returns kicks. I can see Aikens because he's got the size they're looking for in a corner and I suppose they'd spend a mid round pick on more depth for the D line with Coleman, but they're already in pretty good shape there so I'm a little skeptical.

Trolling in its purest form Wow.

Do you actually know the meaning of the word?

How is that trolling at the finest?

Phoenix, I really like how you attacked the team needs with the first three picks. Any mock that has the 49ers selecting a Center within the 2nd or 3rd round, I like. I'm all for shoring up the interior of that Oline.
Nicely done, Phoenix. I take it you're assuming we retain Whitner?
