Tyler Lockett Practice

https://vine.co/v/OIdO3aQKnWB
I'm hoping Tyler Lockett performs well in the Combine. The more deep threats available in the draft, the better. My guy is still Phillip Dorsett and I fear him being over drafted. I have no qualms taking him in the 3rd or later. But this 1st and 2nd round pick talk is insane.
I don't really see it. I didn't see what was so special with OBJ either, so I'm not pretending to be a scout. He lit the NFL on fire this year.

Parker is the guy I want. Kaep has no touch on his passes and can't consistently drop it in their like that K-State QB was doing for Lockett. I can see Kaep firing it right over his head. A bigger WR that can win jump balls is what I feel Kaep needs.
He'll probably go to the Pats and they'll drag him across the field underneath coverage and he'll be too quick to stop

Don`t need another possesion reciever (Parker) does not represent 40 timed speed, other words His 40 time does Not translate to the Field, prefer White Lockett,Phillip,Smelter DBG,.

I was all over OBJ last year, knew he was gonna be a stud .

I get the intrigue with getting a bigger WR ( I have White going to us in the 1st in my mock). But after watch the SB it pretty obvious the LOB has issues with quick/ small WRs that they can't jam up on the line. Why don't we go after both Parker/While and Lockett/Dorsett in the 3rd?

I'm not quite as prone to being as demanding that we take size as some, but I think he is far to small for us, we would not use him properly. I think we drastically under utilized Ellington last year, so I would pass.

Not that impressed. More quick than fast. Good routes but he looks tiny. Maybe in the 4th or 5th. Maybe.
Hope we draft this guy. He got T.Y Hilton, Antonio Brown and OBJ written all over him. These are the kinds of WRs that eat the LOB for breakfast, lunch and dinner despite their size. You can't stop something you can't touch on the line of scrimmage.

agree Dorsett looks like a better prospect imo looked slow at the Senior Bowl

I'd be okay with that. I haven't seen much of him yet, so forgive me if this question is obvious to everyone else but how do his skills difer from Bruce Ellington?

He made the DB look down right silly! We need this dude!
Great article breaking down Lockett. Looks like his stock is rising, but we have a real good chance in the 2nd at least.

In his most recent Scouting Notebook, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller reported that at least one NFL team expects Lockett to be a top-75 draft selection.

From Scouting Report:

Small receivers are an exciting group in this year's class, and as one scout told me, Kansas State's Tyler Lockett is the best of the bunch. He's expected by this team to be a top-75 selection.

These fast WRs are deadly underneath on crossing routes or just as a safety valve. Peyton and Brady always seem to have someone open coming across the middle. We never do that. Patton and Ellington have the speed and quickness to be very effective in that role. Unless Tomsula and Chryst implement a more QB-friendly offense, another smaller WR with speed isn't going to change anything. With Crabtree likely moving on we'll get to see more of our younger WRs.
