OTC's Round-by-round Target Grid

No RB prospects eh? I feel like we might be in the market for one.

OTC do you really think Bruce Irvin will be taken in the second??? If he is available in the 3rd I'd love for 9ers to take him, he could definitely be a pass rush specialist early on and be a suitable backup for Brooks.

Yes, he's 6-2 245 and expected to run in the low 4.5's. Those kinds of players with the production he's had at a major program go very early. Barring injury or terrible combine, he'll go by round 2.

He could make it to the middle of the 2nd, but not the end. Like I said, keep in mind we'll be picking at the end of each round. I place the players as "targeted" where we'd HAVE to pick them, rather than where we should. Personally, I'm not a fan of Jefferey, but would trust the staff if they were to pick him.

Damn, isn't that an awesome feeling?

I love this team!
Nice work, OTC! Not having any RB's on the list doesn't bother me at all. There is always the option of getting one as an UDFA. I imagine that this list will really take shape after the Senior Bowl and on campus workouts, especially for the big WR's.

OTC, did Stephen Hill of GT declare? I know he sent his paperwork into the advisory board, but hadn't heard if he declared.

That guy is a physical freak. 6'4-6'5 area, can leap, has good speed, can block, and make amazing catches. If he declared, he hands down becomes my favorite attainable WR. He had Calvin Johnson comparisons when he arrived at GT, and this year put it together to have a good year. His stats aren't eye-popping, but he also plays in a run-option offense.

I think a young guy like Stephen Hill would fit in nicely with this team. I know he didn't get a ton of chances at Georgia Tech, but I'm sure he has a ton of blocking experience.
wow if hill declared

could this posssibly be the best WR class ever?

Thanks for all the work and a great post.

I aggree about RB. We don't need one now with Gore and back-ups. The playoffs will magnify the positions we need to shore up since the enemy will try their best to exploit them. I may have missed it but do you think Hosley CB will be available for us in the 2nd?

I am curious. I believe we need a TE with legit pass catching skills. Look around the league The best have guys like Gronk and Graham. I love VD but he does not bring the skills we need. Who do you see coming out who would fill that need?
Great job OTC! I would really like a combination of Markelle Martin of Oklahoma State and Stephen Hill of Georgia Tech for the 49ers in the 2012 draft

I've heard of man-crushes but god damn
OTC, Im curious about your opinions on these two guys

Jake Bequette, DE Arkansas

Chandler Jones, DE Syracuse

Are they strictly 4-3 ends? Bequette looked pretty good against KSU last night and I've seen on some prospect lists that hes one of the faster DE's out there. Plus, I got a couple magazines that had him as a possible first round pick as of draft time last year. And im starting to see Jones name pop up more often. No idea about him cuz I havent seen him play but one site compared him to Aldon. Plus, I think hes the brother of Arthur Jones and Bones Jones. Not like that matters lol, but im curious how you see them?
I just posted a thread about him, but why is AJ Jenkins not on your list? Is he not entering the draft this year?

Man. I disagree with this statement. Can you imagine the Niners trying to wing it next year if Gore gets hurt for an extended period? I like Hunter but he is probably not an every down back and Dixon just seems like his game is limited. The team definitely needs to add a RB to its roster, whether that be in the draft or in FA...

I agree. If the Niners could upgrade their 3rd RB position, I'd feel a lot more comfortable. Tab a project for that could compete for the feature back position in the future. I like the idea of Dixon, but he seems like the spot to upgrade if the chance was there.
