It is possible. Mallett has red flags and the most recent reports of meeting with teams while hungover (if the reports are in fact true) would only continue to push him down boards.

This. And there have been some mocks with Kaepernick(sp) going in the first. Everyone has finally figured out this is a passing league, and the QB runs the engine.

Agreed.

But, if this isn't the case I think we trade to get the guy we want, I believe the QB position is the focus of our draft strategy. We will likely trade for a QB. If the thinking is Gabbert is too expensive, trade back and not wait until 45 spot. The QB we want is most likely going to be picked in between 7 and 45. I predict there will be a run on QBs this year ... no one can wait until the lockout ends, gotta get your future QB now. Teams that don't have to get caught up in the QB frenzy ... won't.
