Whose a good fit for the 9ers in the 2nd round (non QB)

Browse 49ers books and videos
Obviously depends on who we draft first, but these are all possibilities:

1.) Brooks Reed, 3-4 OLB (Arizona) - if we go QB or CB in the 1st
2.) Brandon Burton, CB (Utah) - if we go pass rusher or QB in the 1st
3.) Kenrick Ellis, NT (Hampton) - depending on what happens with Franklin
4.) Jabaal Sheard, 3-4 OLB (Pittsburgh) - if we go QB or CB in the 1st
5.) Stefen Wisniewski, C/OG (Penn St.) - depending on what happens with Baas
Titus Young WR
Martez Wilson ILB/OLB
Muhammad Wilkerson DT
Rahim Moore FS
Curtis Marsh CB
Brandon Burton CB
Ras-I Dowling CB
Quan Sturdivant ILB
Johnny Patrick CB
Jerrel Jernigan WR
Davon House CB
Jerrell Powe DT
Rashard Carmichael CB
K.J. Wright OLB/ILB
Brooks Reed OLB
Jeremy Beal DE/OLB
Dontay Moch OLB
Jabaal Sheard DE/OLB

These are the 2nd round guys I think could help out the Niners. Probably Moch is undersized and I could change my mind on Beal after the combine.

if both CBs (Jimmy Smith & Williams of Texas) are off the board, I would really like to land the UNC DT (Marvin Austin) in the 2nd round.. i think that he'll be a steal in the 2nd round as long as he stays off trouble..

It's not an issue of "trouble" for Austin as it is, "motivation." By all accounts, he's not a bad kid...just a little caught up in the glamour of football as opposed to the grind of it. IMO, you can work with kids that are troubled, have tempers or get involved with off-the-field stuff, but if a guy is lazy and not willing to consistently put in the hard work required of championship teams, he's not worth the time/effort.

I believe that was one of ricky jean's knocks coming out. That while he was supremely talented, he was a bit lazy w/ a mix of off the field stuff thrown in. But, i think once he go here he's been one of our hardest workers, the teammates love him, and most importantly he took to Tomsula's coaching.

I'd love to see Tomsula get his hands on a talent like Marvin Austin. It'd be the steal of the draft in the 2nd round.

Good point, though scheme-wise, Austin seems to be a 1-gap player trapped in a 2-gap body. I think he's more than capable of playing on a 3-man front, but he seems to be a better fit as a 3-technique DT. Just my opinion.

WISNIEWSKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Damn we need him. Not only does he come from a family of ballers but he is a pretty damn good player. I'd take him because hell Chilo sucks, and you can never have a shortage of OL. Plus what's to happen with Baas is up in the air
Jimmy Smith if he's there

it's almost good at times that a very talented and promising kid gets into trouble.. it really brings them back down to earth.. look at what happen with Cris Carter at Philly.. he was young, talented, and believed too much of himself and got careless with marijuana.. Just like Ricky Jean, I believe that what happen to Ausin last year was a wake up call..

.. and in my opinion, he can be great in both 3-4 or 4-3 DT position as long as he keeps his head screwed in the right way..

Assuming bs smith and williams are gone and nt taylor
...we really should go bpa bc there is a big dropoff in cbs and nts and de olbs after the ones mentioned. It seems like if thats the case maybe an offensive player might be best.

Qb should be the pick but if you wanted a non qb answer i guess i would go a wr that slipped. If none are there worth the pick i say our pick is a TRADE for kolb. That might be a better player than anyone we get in the second.

If not we should trade up to get a cb or olb thats worth it
Von Miller round 1
Dowling round 2
