Sorry John, don't like the pick. But, a QB here will a lot of sense.
The Niners have to come out of this draft with a QB and Stanzi was the last viable prospect left in my opinion. Ponder should have been the pick in rd 2
Ponder/Stanzi = same difference, imo. Seems like a couple weeks ago everyone on here was riding Stanzi's jock. Now it's Ponder's turn.
So tell me.. how would you feel if the Niners came out of this draft with no QB. Gabbert, Mallett, Newton, Locker, Dalton, Ponder, and Kapernick were all gone by the Niners 3rd pick. I believe they HAVE to draft a QB in one of the top 3 rds to get one of these guys. Stanzi was easily the choice here based on who was already picked. Taking a RB in rd 2 was really dumb. Not sure who made that pick but that was one I totally disagreed with.
Yah, I like Ryan Williams, but we should have taken Ponder with that second round pick.

Interesting. I just saw in another thread that you would draft Jake Locker with the 7th pick of the draft since you consider him a "tier 1" QB. So.. you really think taking Locker in the first makes more sense than Ponder or Stanzi in 2nd or 3rd? Wow! I think you would be in the minority on that opinion.

St Louis Rams select: Marvin Austin DT
They can't pass on the potential at this point in the draft.

Miami Dolphins select RB DeMarco Murray from Oklahoma.
The Ronnie Brown/Ricky Williams tandem isn't working anymore.

Jax needs more DB help, but it's a deep corner draft...so they take into account Marcedes Lewis' free agent status, and draft the 2nd best TE in the draft, Luke Stocker from Tennessee.

Tampa Bay selects OLB Bruce Carter, North Carolina. Injury is cause for concern but way to talented to be still available in the 3rd round. Bucs defense has had a nice haul with Clayborn, Dowling and now Carter.

Philly is always adding o-lineman; they select Indiana's massive OT, James Brewer.

The Saints go defense for the 4th time, selecting DT Jurrell Casey from USC.
A defensive tackle who can rush the QB and get in the backfield fits the bill for New Orleans.
