Look at the size of the Steelers and Packers LBs (both inside and out). The only guy with any real size is the 6'2", 265 LaMarr Woodley (which is about Ahmad Brooks' size)....the rest range from 6'0"-6'2" and around 235-255, which is right in the range of Von Miller. In other words, he's an ideal fit for the Steelers and Packers 3-4, which would make him an ideal fit for us as well.
The only guy is in Miller's area is Timmons and he plays inside and his strengths are very different. He's a fast guy who is able to make plays because the other guys around him are more dangerous and have to get blocked.
So the smaller guys for the Steelers are inside where they should be. We already have Patrick Willis and Bowman. We need an OLB. People keep throwing out Harrison out there but being 5'11 and 242 lbs is very different than being 6'2+ and 237 lbs.
Packer LBs:
Clay Matthews - 6'2", 255 (weighed in at 240 at his combine)
A.J. Hawk - 6'1", 247 (10 lbs heavier)
Desmond Bishop - 6'2", 238 (almost exactly Miller's size right now)
Nick Barnett - 6'2", 236 (almost exactly Miller's size right now)
Brandan Chillar - 6'2", 237 (exactly Miller's size right now)
Brad Jones - 6'3", 242 (5lbs heavier)
Brady Poppinga - 6'3", 250 (13 lbs heavier right now)
Erik Walden - 6'2", 250 (13 lbs heavier right now)
Steeler LBs:
LaMarr Woodley - 6'2", 265 (clearly bigger)
Jason Worilds - 6'2", 260 (clearly bigger)
James Harrison - 5'11", 242 (different body type)
James Farrior - 6'2", 237 (exactly Miller's size right now)
Larry Foote - 6'1", 239 (almost exactly Miller's size right now)
Keyaron Fox - 6'3", 235 (2 lbs ligher than Miller right now)
Stevenson Sylvester - 6'2", 231 (6 lbs lighter than Miller right now)
Now, if Miller was locked out of the weight room for the rest of his life, and was forced to not eat anything that would cause him to gain weight during his professional career, you would have a case for him staying at 237.
Since (like the rest of the players) he will be allowed to lift weights and have meals that help him gain weight, he will not stay at 237 for the rest of his playing days. Be sure, he will likely show up at the combine in the 245ish range, and there's no reason to believe he couldn't show up at a training camp in the 250ish range.
For the last time, this is just simply not an issue right now.
