I think that Locker could be good with the right situation. If Harbaugh thinks he is the right guy, I am ok with it. He has a good track record of not only developing QBs, but projecting how they turn out as Pros.
Ideally, I would like to bring in a veteran QB and have Locker sit behind him for a year.
I think his college stats could be misleading due to the lack of talent Washington had around him. Not only that, but there have been a few guys who didnt do anything in college that turned out to be good pro QBs.

I think Locker is the perfect WCO quarterback. He's just needs to have some talent around him.
Perfect WCO QB @ 55% Completion Percentage.
yeah... about that.
Joe Montana had 52% at Notre Dame
Yeah, that makes sense because Jake Locker = Joe Montana, give me a break.
Relax. He's just trying to say that completion percentage shouldn't be the only thing you judge a college QB from. Take into consideration all the dropped passes or miscommunication with receivers.

Both have no pocket awareness and both look very robotic.

I live in Seattle and get to see Jake play often. Unfortunately, I do see some comparisons between the two of them namely the lack of good decision making and lack of accuracy on their throws.
Jake's footwork and leadership are much better tho. Jake's hasn't developed his mechanics as a pure pocket passer yet because he has always tended to run out of trouble. He would be a project no doubt.
I still see the Niners taking Price in the first round and Stanzi/Devlin etc in the later rounds.

How does Locker have no pocket awareness? As soon as the line broke down, he ran for it. And I don't know what your definition of "robotic" is. What does that mean to you?

Alex played it safe, Locker doesn't mind taking chances down the field. He had a lot of trust in his receivers to make plays despite them not being the best talent out there. And yes, I also like his leadership.
I do agree with you, however, that I would take Prince and Stanzi.

I remember in '05 everyone criticizing Aaron Rodgers for being robotic.

Just sayin'.

I agree..Locker = Alex Smith Part II!!!!
The more I look into the type of Qb's that JH has recruited and developed in the past, the stronger I feel than Cam will be the pick at #7.
There is a very nice article circulating about Josh Johnson and his development under JH. He was not highly recruited but Coach saw something and developed him where in his Sr. season he threw 43 tds and 1 pick. Just imagine what he could do with Cam...he has to be salivating! Bring in a veteran WC exp qb for a year or 2 until Cam can be polished.
BTW, saw Adam Schefter on ESPN earlier on Cam, he said most scouts that he has spoken with compare Cam to Ben R. and Josh Freeman.

They were all over him because of being a Tedford guy.

Just not impressed....he doesn't seem to have that "it factor" that we all know is not coach-able! He is not an accurate passer, does not make people around him better. The dude was what...5-20 and 56 yards in the bowl game. The very last game you get to play in college to show case your skills and against a team where your career started to spiral. If anything, he should have been really motivated and played his best game.
He just seems to be more of an athlete playing qb, than a QB that is athletic. Same as Alex.

Then you must be seeing something different considering the fact that he could've been the #1 pick last season. Back to the Nebraska bowl game. Everyone, including the announcers, talked about how his receivers were playing soft, getting locked up, or pushed out of bounds. I saw a total of four dropped passes....in the first half!! Yes, Locker threw some inaccurate passes too, and I think with coaching on his footwork, he'll get better. He also took some chances and fired the ball downfield, trusting his receivers to make plays, but unfortunately wasn't completed. His o-line barely gave him time to go through his progressions which is why he made plays with his legs during that game.

Ok, any f**king genius can come up with that. If you read my post, it says take him in round 2. But to say he is the perfect wco qb?
Kellan Moore> Jake locker
Don't think he was saying that - just that college completion percentage often doesn't mean a hell of a lot.
Joe's completion % broken down per year:
1975: 42%, 1976: 52%, 1978: 54%
Although it still put a lot of teams off, forcing him to slip into the 3rd round.
