HBB Mock #3

This is a no-trade mock. I chose one DT since I am assuming that Elliott, Davis, Anderson and GIvens will likely be resigned for the 2026 season. I chose two DEs since I see more turnover at DE than DT. I am only bringing in one OL given Shanahan's comments that he wants to continue to develop the current group. Starters: Williams-Bartch-Brendel-Puni-McKivitz. I'm also predicting that Aiyuk improves faster than expected so 49ers can wait until Round 4 to draft a WR.

11. Walter Nolen, DT - Lynch wants to move down and select either Nolen or Harmon, but the offers are not good enough, so he chooses Nolen. He projects as a plus run defender as well as pass rusher.
43. Jack Sawyer, DE - Sawyer projects as a plus run defender and adequate pass rusher.
75. Chris Paul, LB - Productive LB who projects as Dre Greenlaw's replacement. With the first three picks Lynch makes major improvement in the run game.
100. Charles Grant, OT - Developmental Tackle with questions about his size and level of competition. I see those concerns dropping him to the end of the 3rd round.
113. Bhayshul Tuten, RB - Fast RB who will compete for the #3 spot as well as returning kicks. He projects out to be a decent receiver out of the backfield.
138. Quincy Riley, CB - Nickel CB is a need and he could possibly be the primary on passing downs.
147. Nick Nash, WR - Developmental WR who could follow a similar career path as Jauan.
160. Elijah Roberts, DE - A good run defender for depth at DE. Robert Beal and Drake Jackson continue to be unknowns so depth at DE is needed in case both depart after 2025.
227. Jalin Conyers, TE - Has the physical traits to line up all over the place but has a lot of work to do get there.
249. Robert Longerbeam, CB - Additional competition at Nickel CB.
252. Marcus Yarns, RB - Could be a plus receiver out of the backfield and fits the one-cut mold favored by the Bobby Turner. Like Charles Grant, level of competition concern could drop him to the end of the draft.

Overall, a solid mock. My only criticism would be your picks for Edge/DE and RB's. Taking "adequate" pass rushers in Sawyer and Roberts wouldn't be my first choices. Doubling up at Edge and DT are imperative in this draft, so I would skip the extra RB in the seventh to get another DT/plugger late.
I kind of agree with Brock. I don't hate Sawyer (I actually think he makes it to 74) but he's more an edge setter and I'd rather go Gillote or Ivey in the 4th than Sawyer here. However, if you do go with an edge setter type DE then my DE double up would be a pure pass rusher Antuan Powell Ryland, Que Robinson David Walker comes to mind.

If you draft Tuten early and double up on RB give me a dude like Tahj Brooks to pair with Tuten.

That said, you only got 1 DT and no OG. Overall I would be very disappointed in this draft and offseason as a whole if this were to happen
I was thinking that they would have UDFA DL and OL as well as bringing in cheaper options. I did see that Daniel Brunskill is still out there...

But you are not going to solve all the problems in one offseason.
I like a lot of your picks. Minus Jack Sawyer, I don't see any real plus pass rush traits outside of "hustle" he's a no go for me. I wouldn't use a day 2 pick on him.

I feel like Nash is being taken too high.
