Mock Draft-Trading for 3rd round picks

As I see it, in this draft there's a very sweet spot around the 3rd-early 4th rounds,… so I think the best move niners could do, would be to trade down and get as many picks in this range as they can,…. but it's going to be very difficult to trade the 11th,... almost impossible, I would say,… there's always 2 needed to tango

so I would try to get picks in that 3rd-early 4th rounds range with the 43th (there are usually far more trades from the 2nd round on)



the trade (proposed and admitted by PFF) is a little bit favorable to the 49ers,.. but these things happen, specially when trading to get a first round pick or even a 2nd round pick

-I see Nolen more and more as the best DT prospect,… and the best overall just after Abdul Carter (and possibly Ashton Jeanty, as they say coz I've watched very little from him)…

-niners need to replace Greenlaw and that's not an easy task,… Knight could contribute to the task from day1,… experienced player, something the FO seemed to value highly the last draft,… excellent tackler, very aggressive,… elite agaist the run while holding on quite decently in coverage
In case Carson Schwesinger is still there, grab him,.... but I think he'll be gone sooner

-they also need very badly a FS good in coverage, all they have are box Ss,… and the best by far in this class is Mukuba,… the guy allowed a passer rating of 12.1 (yeah, you read it correctly, 12.1)

-in the same range as E. Roberts (that 3rd-early 4th), there are some other edges I wouldn't mind taking like David Walker or Femi Oladejo,… but I would still choose Roberts,.. quite a big edge at 6'4'' and 295 lb.,…. He's as good as anyone in this class rushing the passer but he's one of the few who also excels against the run

-in this 3rd-early 4th range there are, apart from Grant, some other very interesting tackles like A. Ersery (probably earlier in the 3rd or even late in the 2nd) or A. Belton

-Deone Walker is going to be the steal of this draft if picked in this range,… he's IMHO the best NT in this class,… should be a 1st rounder and is expected to go in the 4th

-Peebles could be a special player

-niners and Purdy need a deep threat, something the team has been lacking for a time,… and that's Dont'e Thornton Jr.,… with some very rare athletic traits,.. run a 4.30 at the combine being 6'5''

-J. Conyers could also be a special TE,… 6'4'' and 265 lb with some incredibly smooth movements,… his route running is something to watch,… and knows blocking (PFFgraded best run blocker)

- and Tommi Hill is a 6'0'' and 213 lb outside CB,... which is quite big for a CB,... he had a foot injury last season which let him complete just 3 games and hampered him in another 4 where he played some snaps,... but in 2023 he was one of the bests CBs in coverage,....
