Mock Draft Simulator

Tried a new strategy trading back to the end of the first and taking an exciting player in Fannin. Pretty happy with how it all worked out.

I believe I just fixed the 49ers with this bad boy. No trades.

11 Mike Green (Edge) - If his interviews go well and he's as advertised, look out

43 Tyler Booker (Tyler Booker) - BPA. Probably day 1 starter too.

75 Charles Grant (OT) - Very athletic and let him sit and learn behind Trent Williams for a year,

99 Jordan Phillips (DT) - Potential day 1 starter. Physical

111 Nohl Williams (CB) - Will compete for starthing role outside of Lenior and Green

137 Billy Bowman Jr (S) - Playmaker, Should compete with Brown for starting safety

138 Jackson Hawes (TE) - I might have panicked here and grabbed him too early. He blocks well and probably should compete for TE 2

149 Seth McLaughlin (OC) - Backup and maybe eventual starter?

187 Ollie Gordon (RB) - Had a down year but looked like a superstar in 2023 with 1700 yds rushing and 300+ yds receiving

256 Roc Taylor (WR) - Honestly i don't know anything about him but he was BPA. Plus i was too busy admiring my first 9 picks

Thoughts?

I've been selecting Nick often in my PFF drafts now. Yep, not surprised he's going in the 2nd round now. Dude is a beast. I don't know if Kam Chancellor is a good comparison but he's built like him, and can hit, tackle, and cover. He has at least three pick sixes in his college career.
Made two trade backs.

Lines early, skills late. Not a bad result though. What's the deal with Wells? He looks better than a 6th rounder to me.

Yeah, I like him a lot. Chancellor is a good comp but, to me, his ceiling could be even higher because he thrives outside the box as well. Just a beastly dynamic playmaker.

I hope the pendulum doesn't swing too far the other way, and we address the trenches mostly in FA. Coming into the SB, we were sick and tired of Kyle and John putting lipstick on our OL pig. After the SB, everyone wants trenches and I foresee a lot of reaches in this draft as a result. At the end of the day, I'd rather us get dynamic BPA than pigeon hole needs.

Definitely feels like trading back and collecting as many picks as possible in rounds 2-4 is the best way to restock the lines and get the infusion of young talent this team needs.

From what I am hearing and seeing in the simulator, it seems like DL and OL are plentiful in the draft. I sometimes find myself drafting 3 DT in the first 3 rounds in the simulator.

Yes, screw Moody. I picked up Fitzgerald :)

Here's my mock. Had to trade down to get Will Campbell. And then also moved up from the 4th to the 5th (and an extra). Even though it's a PFF mock I am sure a handful of players won't be available at the slots I selected them :(

1-7 | Will Campbell, OT, LSU
2-43 | Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
3-99 | Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas
4-108 | Tate Ratledge, G, Georgia
4-111 | JJ Pegues, DT, Mississippi
4-137 | Jarquez Hunter, RB, Auburn
5-141 | O'Donnell Fortune, CB, South Carolina
5-167 | Bradyn Swinson, DE, LSU
6-186 | KeAndre Lambert-Smith, WR, Auburn
7-227 | Malachi Moore, S, Alabama
7-231 | Ryan Fitzgerald, K, Florida State
7-255 | Tonka Hemingway, DT, South Carolina

Travis Hunter at 11! Will never happen but fun to run with. Waited until late to take a WR because I'm assuming Shan gets him on the field for some WR snaps in addition to starting at CB.
