Is Harrison smith worth kicking tires on? Still better than any safety they have and could be a lynch/dawkins Denver late career signing
I'd support almost anything the 9ers did. But isn't Harrison Smith almost 40 years old? But yah he would still be the best Safety on the 9ers. He's another one I wish the 9ers drafted.

When you look at last years LB injuries I think it would be good to have him on the shelf.

I'm a huge KVN fan. I think he would've been a bad fit in what they've been doing the last few years, but he's perfect for what Raheem does.

KVN's biggest strength is his positional flexibility and versatility. If you're running a rigid defense like the 4-3 wide 9 the 49ers' have been running the last few years, that's not how you get the best out of KVN. He's not a guy you just line up at 9 tech and ask to sit there all game. When he was in Detroit, they had no clue how to use him and tried to play him as a traditional OLB. It wasn't until he got to Bill Belichick where his potential was unlocked. The hoodie used him as a hybrid player and lined him up everywhere: edge, stack LB, overhang, etc. He's a guy you want blitzing at times, covering tight ends and situationally setting the edge. Raheem is going to bring much more versatility and multiplicity to the defense than any previous DC. He's going to do a lot more things closer to what Belichick did--hence why KVN is an ideal fit now.

Hes pretty much the perfect fit / transition player for what we assume Morris wants to add to the defense. Hes a high IQ veteran who can blitz, cover, and set an edge.
To pigeonhole it into familiar terms, he'd be the walk up SAM LB in 5 man fronts...but hes also versatile enough to rush the passer in our NASCAR fronts if Height isnt quiet there yet, he can fill in a little bit if Greenlaw gets dinged up for a game or two, can help on the edge as Bosa and Mykel come back slowly from injury, etc.
At his age, he should already come cheap, and then you add in that he vocally wants to be here, and im not quite sure why it hasn't happened yet, tbh.

TE or S.
I think we hit FA this week for Justin Simmons and David Njoku. We freed up more money Fri for someone.
We already signed Jones who will start at LG.
Bosa will still want too much money for the production we would get. Maybe Clowney on a cheap deal if any DE
