I don't think that is possible

It doesn't matter how much potential he has when there's probably 5+ kickers on the street who can hit 50+ yarders as well.

What were the 49ers thinking when they drafted a kicker in the 3rd round?

Chad Ryland was drafted in the 4th. Granted he had a bad year in NE in 2023 but he's been lights out in 2024 for AZ.
Lmao saying what where we thinking drafting kicker in 3rd then saying x team killed it drafting one in 4th

I'm just saying he wasn't even the best kicker picked and that NE cut ties with their drafted kicker after ONE year. Sometimes these guys need a change of scenery.

KC's kicker missed a 43 yard FG yesterday and an extras point. Fortunately for him he got a do over on missed FG after a penalty.

A few other kickers who have missed multiple 40-49 yard kicks this year :

Justin Tucker
Younghoe Koo
Tyler Bass
Chad Ryland
It's just a good year for the whiners. Plenty to whine about for them up and down the lineup.

Really hoping it's a injury issue but I think we can all agree he probably doesn't have the mental aspect

Yup. No doubt about it. Go miss for another team.

I'm still shocked that a "genius" and HOF player GM was stupid enough to use such a high pick on a freaking kicker. Reap what you sow. Cherry on top was following that up with Latu lol

they did sort of the same thing with the Mitch pick. We had a totally fine punter in Pinion.

Wishnowsky has been a good punter. He was very good at punting inside the 10 yard line. Unfortunatley he has back problems now so no telling whether he'll ever be the same.

Great! Now Shanahan said he's going to give this guy another chance just because he did well before his injury? Also, he learned his lesson when he cut Geno in Washington and he went on to have a pro bowl season two season later?

We don't have that kind of time to wait. Next year is our year. Very similar to what happened to the Philadelphia Eagles last year. We have the players, just a down year and a ton of injuries, poor execution, as well as bad coaching (especially DC snd ST)

So what do we do? There's only one good FA K coming up, Eddie Pineiro. I doubt the FO wants 4-5 mil of cap space going to a K. And drafting one seems out of the question then if we want to compete, do we really want a rookie K?
