Curious as to why they aren't looking at him. He can still play at a high level and fills a huge need for us. Seems odd.

Can just ask this in the free agency thread. But to answer your question. They don't think he's good enough

You should definitely change the title, it's misleading lol. I'm pretty sure it has to do with money. Suh probably wants more than vet salary.

He had a great year in 2021. Very productive.

Hoping the Niners are considering Suh given the injury issues at DT. Also, he's been coached by Kocurek at Detroit so there's familiarity there. Saw this in a past article: "Respect between Kris Kocurek, Ndamukong Suh runs deep."

I guess the issue is that we're still hoping AA/Kinlaw come back and stay healthy. If we sign Suh, re-activate Willis, Jinlaw, and AA gets healthy then who else are you cutting to fit them all in?

Prefer to sign Suh over OBJ, but will be happy if either signs here

but if we put AA or Kin on long term IR, you would have to bring him in to kick the tires

Good point, was also thinking it could be a character thing and/or wanting more $ than the team is willing to give him.

We should sign him regardless. We can't count on AA or Kinlaw to BOTH be fully healthy this year, and with our injury luck we need all the solid talent we can get.
We also want to prevent him going to another contender we might face and we're basically All-in on a title for the next three years or so while we have QB's making rookie-level salaries.

This, however at this point we can't count on either of them playing throughout the year even if they are deemed healthy when they come back. We can't go into the playoffs with 2 backup DTs starting like we've done the whole year. If we face a good qb/qbs we need an interior pass rush which is exactly what Suh does best.

Yup, unless we have a significant injury to either Deebo or BA, Suh will help us a lot more. I've been wanting to sign him since week 3 when basically both our DTs went down.
