Bobby Wagner anyone?

Trade AL and keep Warner, Wagner and Green

My guess is that if the interest is real maybe Wagner is asking some niner players about their confidence in trey lance. The Cardinals situation looks like a mess so I think the rams could be our main competition. This is all assuming he wants to stay in the nfc west.

It's not a no brainer because that's 4-5 million less that you'll have to address bigger needs in the secondary and on the offensive line.

They draft an OL and move on from glinch save $10.8m-replacement salary. Then a DE that allows them to move on from Ford(7th in 2024 2.5m) and/or Ebukam(6.5m)

Not to mention the 2.5m of Dre's salary and the 5th-7ths they could get for the salary dumps.

Maths, $12m saved counting $8m for wagner.

Stop. Wagner probably wants to play for a super bowl contender. The 49ers have a huge unknown at QB. He'd be smart to pick the Rams or Cards before even considering us, and that's only in our division lol.

Right because the Cards are more of a Super Bowl contender than us.

TBF the cards did go on what a 8 game winning streak and made the playoffs. Trey Lance hasn't started a full season yet so he really is a question mark.

Mcglinchey is on his fifth year option which is fully guaranteed. How are you saving all of his salary by moving him?

Trade. I believe because none of it is bonus money, it all moves to the next team.

That's very unlikely.

No thx. I dont think he is that much better than Greenlaw of Shair.

watch the film man. I'm a huge fan of Dre, but Wagner is on another level. I still think he's got 2 more prime yrs in him. What better way for Warner and Dre to learn than to have Wagner in the house. Like I said tho, at 4-5m...
Get Wags on a discount offer him two shots a year at SEA and a ring he'll take it

this, no one is trading for an over-rated run blocking RT coming off a season ending injury with a $10m price tag.
Pair Wagner with Warner then transition to a 5-2 front. Let the strength of our defense(DL) feast in one-on-ones while the greatest LB duo roam and patrol the field.

Would love to have him. But this is a position of strength. Whatever holes we have on defense LB isn't one of them. We'll be better served spending the money elsewhere.

We drafted Solomon Thomas and Javon Kinlaw when defensive line was our position of strength too. Im not saying the situations are the same, but just pointing that out.

You can rotate D-Linemen, and we often use a heavy rotation to keep them fresh. Linebackers - anymore teams are in nickel 60% of the time. So 3 on the field about 40% of the time. I just don't think it's worth the money to invest in Wagner, when we already have Warner and Dre - And Al-Shaz playing just fine in base.

Seattle saved just less than $4M to let him go. That says a lot about how much he has lost.

Eh. I think it is trading a young player for some picks and signing a stop gap with little to no fall off.

Heck it could even create a move on situation for others if they end up wth multiple day 2 picks(say 6 total 33-100) from dre and jimmy.

Wagner was not that good this past season. We have been used to seeing him among the top 5 LBs in the league. He was near that at the beginning of the year but dropped to #15 at the end. He is just worn out. (By comparison, Warner was #5.)

Draft picks are a crapshoot. I'll take the sure thing now.
Respect the s**t out of Wagner, great football player....but it's a big no from me.

We do not need to upgrade at LBer. Literally that's one of the last positions we need to spend MORE money on. His coverage abilities isn't what it once was.

They need to spend money elsewhere...this imo is a novelty signing more than anything.

Yeah and Murray had one of the worst playoff games I've ever seen...he's not getting better and wants to be paid like Mahomes lol.

Can lance be at least a banged up Jimmy G because that got SF to the NFCC. I think he can.
