Mike Williams

Will be an Unrestricted Free Agent next year,
we have a need for a deep threat WR, would stretch the field and give us an opportunity to utilize Trey's arm strength.

Deebo
Aiyuk
Kittle
Williams
Jennings
Sherfield

coupled with Our run game and Treys ability to run, could be the missing piece.

We will have some cash to splash next year but we will also have a lot of players to re-sign or replace.

Benjamin has been disappointing but Jimmy isn't known for throwing the deep ball well.

so what do you think? Stick with Benjamin or upgrade to Williams to give Trey as much help as possible?
Idk about this guy and i followed him closely because i had him in fantasy football week 1. He was frustrating. Exploded on the scene in the beginning of the season and then quickly flamed out mid-way through the season. He turned into a okay-performance or bust player. I believe injuries played a part but that has been this guy's deal his whole career. Cant stay healthy. Someone is going to throw serious money at him because he does have superstar potential but his availability is a real concern. We dont need anymore players like that.

Mike Williams is going to want starter money and I doubt he excepts a role as the #2 or #3 receiver. I was thinking of a WR along the lines of Christian Kirk, who can also help on Special Teams.

Kirk is definitely a weapon i would like. Explosive and lots of potential.

I doubt Cardinals have the money to keep him around unless he takes a team friendly deal. Cards are about to hit cap hell with Murray's payday coming up. Priority FA is probably Chandler Jones too. Plus, I think they role with Hopkins, Green, and give Rondale Moore a bigger role in 2022.

Replace Mike Williams with Kirk in your post.

Gonna half to draft a guy.
I want DJ Chark as a tall deep threat. He will likely be too expensive if we can't start him
DJ chark should be a good fit.

The best WR who is likely to out perform his next contract is Michael Gallup. He doesn't have the blazing speed mentioned in the OP, but he is one of the best deep threats in the game, and if you talk about pieces that the team needs and that meshes well with Trey Lance, Gallup is your guy. Deep threat, strong contested catch guy with elite body control and an enormous catch radius.

He just tore his ACL versus the Cards but he's be a good fit.

Ya, hopefully it makes him cheaper

I like Chark, but isn't he coming off a season ending injury?? I'd hate to see them sign again coming off IR when there's healthy receivers on the market. For me it's:

1. Kirk
2. Cedrick Wilson
3. OBJ - if he hits the market
4. Michael Gallup
5. Russell Gage
6. Will Fuller
7. TY Hilton
8. Adam Humphries
9. Sammy Watkins
10. DJ Chark

Michael Gallup just tore his ACL and Fuller has spent most of the season on the IR. Both are extreme health risks as well
I like the sentiment, but wouldn't we be better if we just drafted someone for this role?

I can only see one FA of note being brought in (in terms of contract numbers) and my guess is said player will either play offense or be a no. 2 TE. We went after Austin Hooper, so the desire is absolutely there.
Williams reminds me of Sammy Watkins. Tons of talent but just never puts it together on a consistent basis for whatever reason.

if he wants to come cheap bring him in, if not hard pass.

Kirk has played well enough to get starter money. He's not coming as much as I'd like him.

Gage is the guy to target
No way are they going to pay Deebo a ton of money and then go out and spend money on a premier free agent WR. They've got the foundation of their WR group with Deebo, Aiyuk and Jennings. What they need is a guy in the middle rounds of the draft that can serve as a deep threat, maybe a cheap veteran on the backend of his career or an overlooked younger player that hasn't gotten enough opportunities on his current team.
