Wonder what the price tag would be for Run CMC? He's been getting hurt a lot maybe Panthers would bail on him? Would look great in our jersey and Lynch loves the Stanford guys. Probably a pipe dream.
Lol last thing this team needs is a rb especially giving up picks and taking that salary. This isn't madden
But what about an injury prone running back?
Hey it definitely is awesome to think what a talented player like CMC would do in this scheme when healthy, I agree lol but now back to reality.
We have a better version in Debbo IMO.

I also did list CJ Henderson. Also there were a ton more options at the time besides Gilmore. You may be a numbers guy AB, but you can't tell me there wasn't better options.
I started to name CJ, but apparently, he was traded partially due to him being unhealthy. But I agree. Plenty of guys were out there.
Plenty? How many got traded? Besides CJ & GILMORE, who I did a whole thing on why it wasn't possible, same with Julio, no other CB got dealt, Dantzler was rumored but the Vikes weren't giving him up. There weren't plenty available to trade for.
Casey Hayward, Steven Nelson and Richard Sherman to name a few when Verrett went down. So along with CJ and Gilmore that was 5 better options at the time.
Oh and Cameron Dantzler who Lynch inquired about. Sure he was shutdown but why was he shutdown?? Did Lynch low ball them or was their asking price too high??
Richard Sherman who lasted like all of two games before getting hurt. But I'm with you that more could've been done in advance. I'd never argue that we couldn't have done more.

lol this again. niners will probably overpay some guy thats always hurt. rinse and repeat
This again, what do you mean….off season? It's pretty inevitable…who did we over pay last season?
Might be talking about Ford, McKinnon, and maybe Garappolo might fall into that category too. But i believe those are the only two examples I can think of in like 5 years. Not something that happens every year. I think our coaching staff has learned their lesson with all the injuries we have had and any FA we sign with injury-riddled past will come at a reasonable price and wont be relied on to stay healthy throughout the season.
Overall, i dont mind signing injury-plagued players if its a reasonable contract and we have a reliable backup. Someone i would like to take a look at is Will Fuller. Missed the whole year and probably will be looking at a prove-it deal in 2022. His speed is exactly what we need and we can draft a young speedy wide receiver to replace him if he gets hurt again
Garappolo should not be on that list. I'm done with Jimmy, but the disrespect is getting ridiculous. McKinnon was a very bad deal. Dee Ford is the stuff bad teams have to do to attract players. Far from a yearly thing.
Fuller is a good candidate in that there would be no pressure, but he can come in and make a huge impact if he remains healthy. Good hedge to sign him and draft the speedy receiver.

Yeah, I think we got some great backups in Brunskill and Compton, good developmental rookies, the cap space to take a swing on a mid-level starter. The only thing is getting McGlinchey off the books. Im completely done with him and that $10M in cap space would be best served on signing someone else. I feel like we may even have t to "Brock Osweiler" him and give someone a late round pick to take him off our hands. Id be down either way.
If were to deal him, we'd have to give up a day 2 pick, better off redoing his deal, I think Moore could start at RT long term, I like Brunskill & Compton too, Banks will be the RG IMO, depends on what Laken does, the OL has been fine, I don't get the hate for Mack, he's been good for us, that left side from Trent to Mack has been the best of the OL.
Might sounds crazy to some, but I think if we keep Laken our O-line could be set. Williams-Tomlinson-Mack-Banks-Moore is what I'd like to see in 2022. We'd have two high quality backups in Brunskill and Compton, and can draft another tackle and center to groom. Hard to get a read on where they stand on Banks, but it better be damn good considering all of the talent that was passed over. We also would have a few guys on some low cost deals.
