There's concerns now Wilson probably won't be back by the late nov timeline

Trey Sermon was questionable at the time and is looking even worse right now.

I would not give up even a late round pick, if they're just going to let him walk after the season.

49ers traded up for Sermon in the 3rd. Khalil Herbert who Chicago got in the 6th round has almost 300 yards rushing at 4.8 yards a carry running behind a crap OL. Could have snagged Quinn Meinerz or Spencer Brown in the 3rd and still have gotten Herbert later.

I was never that upset about not drafting Mac. I like him a lot as a quarterback but get the argument for why you may not want to draft him at #3. I was also skeptical about giving up as much as they did for a guy with a resume as short as Lance's but that's neither here nor there. He needs to work out, otherwise its going to get real ugly so I don't even want to contemplate that scenario.

I am pretty upset that they used a 2nd rounder and moved up in the 3rd round for two guys that have barely played while other players taken shortly after them or in some cases, three or four rounds after have been highly productive as rookies for their respective teams. If you're going to go all in and make that big move up for a QB, you especially can't afford to be blowing early picks on guys that struggle to get out on to the field for you.

Absolutely, I like him a lot, was a huge fan of his in college. But he's not a 49er, and Banks and Sermon are. They were 2nd and 3rd round picks and have done basically nothing while other rookies are making huge impacts for their teams. You can't give up that many draft picks to move up for a player and then mail in all your early picks, pretty much year after year.

Still don't know why we didn't do this.. Even with the guys we have, shudda got this guy!!
