Metcalf had 12 catches for 150+ yards & 2 TDs against us in one of the games.... Maybe verrett wasn't on him every play but he had to have covered him some

Its up to either Moseley or K'Wuan to cover Lockett now. No way I would put Kirkpatrick or Norman on him. I do like Norman or Lenoir on DK more than I do Moseley though.

Yeah that was Moseley. Verrett absolutely shut him down the second game and didn't get beat much at all the first. At least Seattle's and the Cardinals cbs are garbage but we needed that advantage with Verrett.

thing is we don't challenge them as much as they challenge our garbage cbs.

Very true but then again we have Deebo Kittle AND hopefully Aiyuk healthy at the same time. Something we never have had against any of the teams in our division. L....ever. So our wrs and te might be more of a challenge for the Seahawks D and the Cardinals D than their wrs may be for our D. There's some context for you
If our pass rush improves in its effectiveness (that also involves offensive holding being called, which is not our fault) then things should improve. Much of the air yardage conceded on Sunday happened when we got into a soft prevent shell - the correct strategy BTW when up multiple scores, and would have been enough but for the two freak turnovers. Long completions before that were mostly screens. I expect more blitzes this Sunday compared to last week, and hopefully holding being called more normally - for instance on MNF refs called numerous holding penalties, as they should.

With the pass rush getting there quicker, there should be less exposure for the secondary. Experienced veterans like Kirkpatrick should be able to provide enough coverage for this.
Career comeback baby! Walt Harris and Carlos Rogers type s**t!!

Can only hope Kirkpatrick and Norman find the fountain of youth with our pass rush and our offense plays well enough to account for deficiencies in the secondary.

I'm also hoping Thomas and Lenoir find their groove as the season moves along and turn into legit options. Lenoir looked legit vs Detroit although that bar is the lowest it will get this season in terms of offensive firepower to stop.

You can tell Thomas just needs to finish. He hasn't been out there a ton but he's close…just gotta make the stops.

the good thing is our pass rush and front 7 does give the secondary some margin for error and our S are pretty good too

as for ambry thomas i do like him and the pick but him not playing CB last year will hurt him early on a bit CB is already one of the hardest positions to play compared to college and he is 1 year removed from playing. That being said he has played well so far not great or amazing but you can see him becoming a solid CB for us. He just needs to do a better job when the ball is in the air

For him and Norman!
I would've liked Dantzler
Two years younger than Sherman with just as much starting experience, not a bad addition.

Have you ever seen him play? He's horrible. Just hope the surrounding cast helps him because he is a liability.

Not bad addition true but never was the talent Sherman was and Sherman was very good for us in 19' no matter the big plays he gave up towards the end. He was banged up last year from the start last year and never had his legs under him. It would be a godsend if Kirkpatrick played B level close to that
