He's been injured a lot with Denver.
i haven't seen his injury history with Den, but i did see that he has to finsih part of his suspension in 2021

Broncos released CB A.J. Bouye.

Owed $13 million in the final year of his deal for 2021, the Broncos now clear over $13.2 million in cap space with the move. In his only season with Denver, Bouye appeared in just seven games due to a shoulder injury, concussion, and six-game suspension, which he still has two games left to serve at the start of next year. Bouye will be 30 years old ahead of next season.
the injuries don't sound that bad

I wouldn't mind Bouye on a 1 year deal. guy is a solid CB

According to this chart, cutting Ford and Richburg post June 1st will save an additional $23 million. That should be enough to go after 2-3 mid leave players that have been cut. 1-2 yr incentive based deals should help.

The only problem is by June 1 all the good free agents might be gone. There might be a better chance this year bc of the lowered salary cap

Lots of cap casualties are post June 1st cuts for bigger savings. With 14 teams over the cap right now, expect lots of post June 1st cuts to be good players needing 1-2 yr contracts. Should be interesting. I expect better players post June 1st than initial wave of free agency. If Jimmy G is traded soon, the niners should have around$33 million of cap space. Another $23 million after Ford and Richburg are cut

I'm still trying to figure out how it's cheaper to cut Ford and rich after OTAs then before. Usually it's the opposite

Click on the link at the beginning of this discussion. Go to 49ers team page. Look at dead money and then switch to post June 1sr cut. Dead money gets spread over 2 yrs and not all at once if cut after June 1st

No it's not. Post June 1 cuts usually save more money unless the players contract becomes fully guaranteed beforehand.
Not a fan of post June cutting unless we absolutely have to.

It's not really that it saves money, it's that it lets teams spread the dead money out over two seasons instead of taking it all at once.

When you release a player, any remaining bonus money they have, the part that's guaranteed, accelerates and counts all at once. But, any cut after June 1st lets teams take that money and split it among two years.
