Kirk Cousins

Some people think he's as good as Jimmy with those wrs and rb he still chokes in every meaningful game. To s**tty defenses too. Meanwhile at least jimmy is a solid qb and great game manager, money on 3rd downs throwing to wrs not in the same stratosphere as thielen diggs and so on. Too funny. Hey, but at least Cousins stats are better throwing up all those prevent garbage yards

False narrative.

Jimmy is not a game manager because he throws way too many interceptions.

Last season Jimmy was worse than both Mullens and Beathard on 3rd down, throwing 4 INTs to 4 TDs and a passer rating of 69.4.

In 2019 he was better on 2nd down than 3rd down, and his third down passer rating was 14th in the league — four spots behind Kirk Cousins.

Jimmy is not some game manager. What he is is someone who is as physically limited as the game manager archetype while also not being particularly careful with the ball.

Mike Zimmer Vikings HC came out and said "Kirk is our guy"

Is that the kiss of death?

I disagree completely as well as many other analysts. Since our running game and defense was so good he definitely did manage games more times than not. I don't know how you could see that he wasn't a game manager save a few games vs Ariz Saints and Seattle but oh well too many people see it. Not a false narrative in the slightest. The playoffs was a prime example of game management. His interceptions has nothing to do with managing a game. A lot of game managers throw interceptions, that's not the standard for determining whether one manages a game or not. Well, unless you're Jared Goff 😂

I have a gut feeling Shanahan is still after his original plan but wonder what he's willing to give up

not concerned about his draft bc they'll likely restructure it so cap hit won't be that obnoxious

Throwing picks on a run first team is not managing the game. It's sucking ass. A game manager is a QB who doesn't turn the ball over and who converts third downs so that almost every drive ends in a kick. That is not Jimmy. He'll convert a few flash third downs from time to time, but far too often he'll throw bone headed passes. Game managers are smart all the time, and don't throw bone head passes.
Matt Maiocco and Laura both said in their opinion the most likely non-Garoppolo starter on SF is Kirk Cousins...
Shanahan is gonna trade for him isn't he

Throwing for 3,900 yards in 2019 while being a run-first team, I'd say Jimmy G is a VERY good game manager. If he wasn't how in the hell did he help guide the team to 13-3??

How soon you forget.

Dude it was a hypothetical...did you listen to the podcast? Literally they said the only reason they picked kirk was because they actually know that kyle liked him.

Listen to the podcast. Only reason they picked Kirk was because they actually know kyle liked him...there's no inside source. It's just off season talk.
