Honestly if we can get him for a not 1st round pick i'd take the flyer tbh. I remember it was reported that Kyle really like Darnold coming out and im sure we would've picked him if we never got jimmy. The Jets are a mess and I am sure he would be more than ecstatic to play for an offensive genius like Kyle. Only thing I don't like is his mechanic are wobbly. But he makes it work I guess. Could be an interesting battle between him, jimmy, and maybe even Rosen during training camp. We need some serious competition at the position.

How can anyone disregard Darnold whose been playing in such a dysfunctional franchise, horrible coaching and nothing really around him. Why wouldn't you take a chance at a young qb whose clearly talented but hasn't reached his potential due to the circumstances around him? If he can be had for cheap why not? No one would want to see what Kyle can get from him with our running game along with Kittle, Aiyuk and Deebo?

Because he wouldn't be cheap ultimately. He'd cost $9 million next season and then if he plays well, you have to extend him for a huge money deal. If he plays poorly, then you just wasted money and a year on a poor QB.

9 mil is expensive for a qb? Even if he plays well he's not going to get a crazy top 5 qb money and if he does we found our qb for the next 10 years, Jimmy would most likely not be on this team.
