Aaron Rodgers stuff

I am a fence sitter on this.

He could do more to allow a better team around him. Take less cap space but more control on his contract(see brady) $10m less per year can go to a great center or guard and a good WR.

But his point, you have a GOAT candidate in the most important position, and instead of maximizing this 3-5 year window they are giving up picks for after the window.

If they took love with their 1st without moving up i do not think anyone would have been mad. But by moving up it shows they were targeting him and had no intention of helping rodgers.

Passing on tee hiigins, sheanault, claypool. Helaire, taylor, hamler
They could have gotten 2 of them with what they used for a backup who may never play for them.

Disagree, I'd be pissed too if I were a top 3 QB in the league and my organization did s**t like drafting my eventual replacement by trading up in the 1st and then going with a RB in the 2nd when we already have a top 10 one on the team.

Yeah, I don't get this, GB says they want Rodgers long term, ok, but why not draft a 1st rd WR, why draft a QB last year, makes no sense, even Rodgers didn't understand, and one guys from the team was on the DraftAThon last yr he thought it was a joke.

As for trading up, I wonder if it's true that the 49ers knew or had info that the Packers were gonna take Aiyuk, so we had to trade up for him.

How long has he been the Packers GM? I bet if we hired him, if available in 2017, people would have been ok with it, but not the reaction people had when Lynch got the GM job, even I was shocked, but a HOF Safety(not at the time, now he is of course), he did some stuff with the Broncos FO I believe, but he was green/raw, but 5yrs in, he and Kyle have done a great job. I remember hearing Louis Riddick's name pop up as a candidate in 2017, he's still with ESPN, dogged a bullet with that.

He's b***hing because they do dumb stuff like draft a backup QB and a backup RB with their first two picks and then get to the NFCCC and their top two draft picks aren't doing a damn thing for them.

You don't think their odds of winning wouldn't have been a little better had they instead drafted Tee Higgins and Bryan Edwards? When you're that close, you go all in to try to get over the top instead of hedging your bets.

They have blown tons of picks on defense over the past decade while continually asking Rodgers to pull miracles out of his butt. Even Seattle has invested in multiple weapons for Wilson to throw to.

I hope they're still in on Rodgers. If you guys want Trey Lance to sit then this would be the best way!!! Yes, keeping Jimmy G would be good too, but man this is Aaron Rodgers we're talking about!!!! Get him!!!!

What do they have to offer? The #3 pick was their best chip unless you want to see them trade away Bosa and Warner while keeping the guy they used 3 firsts to draft on the bench for years.

The moment has passed.

Well I wonder what the asking price would be first. After all Rodgers could force a trade or retire. Then again 9ers would have to outbid teams and I don't think they could do that without giving up a star player. I know it most unlikely that a trade could happen I just hope they're in the mix.

It doesn't matter, Rodgers isn't coming to the 49ers just to wind up in the same situation with a recently drafted QB sitting behind him. Lance is going to play sooner rather than later and a guy like Rodgers will want a team to commit to him being the guy for the next several years.
"I actually ran into Aaron," York shared. "This was after we lost to the Giants, in Indianapolis. So, I saw him at one of the NFL events. And I said 'Hello' to him, and he kind of gave me a glare. I was like, 'Look, man, I'm sorry we didn't take you, but I think your career worked out pretty well. I don't know that we could have given you the same things that Green Bay was able to give you. I'm happy for you.'

"He was like, 'I would have still done really well if you guys drafted me.' I'm like, 'I get it. I understand. Hindsight is 20/20. I get it.'"

lol I've maintained from the start that Rodgers would've been an absolute disaster here if we picked him. Hes such a d*ck. Can't believe he's still bitter at SF after a wildly successful career in GB.
