Mack is at an age where he doesn't need to take less money to play. He's got a lot of mileage on his body and has made good money in his career. If anything, you have to entice him with good money for him to play another season. That said, I hope you are right.
Draft a project at Center, sign Mack as a stop gap.
There is a chance that Mike Pouncey, Linsley or David Andrews from the Pats make the street. We don't have to go all in on Mack. A lot of mileage on those tires and I am not a fan of another high injury risk fill in if it can be helped. Talk to all of them and see who can be had for the lowest year one cap hit and get through COVID cap year intact. Sort out the rest later.
