Well....hello stranger.

I doubt that anyone will trade out of that pick. Mike Holmgren tried to trade two entire drafts for Andrew Luck and the Colts told him to get lost. Lawrence is the highest rated QB prospect to come out in years and it looks like it is the Jets pick to lose. That will be a nice boost for them recruiting whatever new HC they'll get to replace Gase.

Poor old Trevor!

Bring Daddy Dabo with him. 😆
f**k it I'm bumping this. Seems like every possible qb that available is linked to us. If Dallas f**ks around they could lose him.

He could be a monster in Kyle's system. Throws a really accurate deep ball, throws in tight windows and adds mobility.

Dallas will tag him again and even if they didn't the 49ers couldn't afford him.

I think they will too, and agree his cap figure is going to be way too high. But there is some fresh talk that they are going to let him go.

I wouldn't play under a Franchise tag if I were him. I'd sit out the whole year if needed.

Nothing would be worse for him than to play under the tag and either get hurt again or not look as good while coming back. It would kill his ability to command a big contract on the other side.

I'd make it clear to the Cowboys that I'm not signing a franchise tag deal and I stick to it. Either offer up a multi-year deal or plan on getting a new QB.
Jerry is dumb, but he ain't this dumb. He will bring Dak back, whether it be a contract extension or Franchise tag. Not an option for us unfortunately

This only works if he will actually retire. Seems like the easiest bluff to call for Dallas.

So what if he sits out? Wait him out.

He doesn't have to retire. He can sit out the year. He has plenty of money. The risk is too high for him to play on a one-year deal.

If he held out I think they'd tag him and try to get a trade done.

If they tag him this year, it's 120% of last years number. If he sat out and they tagged him again it would go up to 144% of the last salary. It would get cost prohibitive pretty quickly.

He could make 35 million on the tag but he could also get hurt again and have his career end. On the other hand he could sign a 7 year - with 130 million guaranteed and maybe 250 million total. So playing under the tag for Prescott is literally risking hundreds of millions of dollars. I wouldn't do it.

Not only will he get another franchise tag, I wouldn't be surprised if his camp pushes for a fully-guaranteed contract in his next deal. This could be Cousins part 2.

If no deal is done then he bolts in 2022. I wouldn't be shocked if he then resets the market in Free Agency. Largest Free Agent contract in history.

I do have a hard time believing Jerry Jones won't get a deal done. Only variable we can't predict is if Dak wants to stay or if he has become disgruntled.
He's worth every dime of the half billion he's asking
