2025 Free Agency

this will probably get some hate and probably will never happen - but what if...

we went all-old in FA, and in a weird way went all-in on '26

sign a bunch of future HOFs/ borderline future HOFs to 1 year deals
we'd have a ton of veteran leadership, and a roster full of guys desperate to win a ring

WR - Mike Evans, DeAndre Hopkins
LG - Isaac Seumalo or Joel Bitonio
DL - some combo of Cameron Jordan, Khalil Mack, Von Miller, Joey Bosa, Calais Campbell
LB - Bobby Wagner or re-sign Eric Kendricks
S - Harrison Smith

pretty much all of those guys put up decent numbers last year
then draft BPA in April

and then next off-season, all those contracts are off the books, maybe Trent Williams retires, maybe we move on from CMC, Kittle, Warner or Bosa
and we have a ton of cap space for '27 and start a true re-build around Purdy and whatever young talent we have

They don't have the cash to do a bunch of 1 yr deals.

we complain enough about being old and injured. No offense, horrible idea

I don't understand the Greenard hype

give up a draft pick AND give up $22m in cap space for a player who had 3 sack last year?

Greenard missed almost half the season with a shoulder injury. But he's a pretty solid pass rusher that can rush from standing up or on the LOS. He would make an easy transition to another defensive scheme if Morris was one and done as the 9ers DC.

he had a ton of QB pressure too. A lot of cikings fan beleive he was worth extending and giving a pay raise Vikings are just severly over the cap and cant afford it

Seumalo and Evans are the only ones from his list that I would want here.

Rather not trade picks for players that want new contracts. Especially guys that are "good" not great.

end of the day beggars can't be choosers

i think he would be a great trade target im not sure what he is looking for but at his current contract he is definitely outperforming that he has a high pass rush win%. 2 years ago he had 80 total QB pressure and was on pace to match that this year too (missed multiple games). He has been pretty consistant over last 3 years and should be cheaper than Hendrickson as well as younger

Agreed. We need the picks cause we need young cost controlled talent on this roster.

Maybe a little cheaper, but Minn is gonna want a 2nd or 3rd.

TH is on another level as a player regardless of being a little long in the tooth. I'm reading he might want to play in TB, plus Dallas might toss cash at him.

im not expecting anything on either front.

What? Why? He's been a damn good IDL for a couple years. We need a legit IDL that can rush the passer. We have absolutely no one that can do that. Williams is suppose to be part of it but we need someone who's healthy and proven there.

The answer was in the question. Hes been damn good for a couple years. Hes a 30 year old undersized pass rush specialist at DT on the wrong side of his career apex. We'd be over paying for what he's already done, when the goal should be to identify who to under pay for what they're going to do.

This is hargrave all over again. I pounded the table for hargrave before he went to the Eagles. Of course we give him the big bucks when the eagles are ready to move on.
Also, greenard would be a dream come true. Yall tripping hahha
