I'd rather we just take a gamble and draft a QB tbh. I'm not a big fan of either, Stafford or Jimmy.

The Niners would be better with Stafford in 3 steps:

Step 1-Stafford with his strong arm playing with Aiyuk/Deebo making throws that Jimmy can´t make like hitting go/post/corner routes.

Step 2-Safeties playing deep because they´ll be scared to death of those deep throws.

Step 3-With the safeties playing deep, there will be less defenders in the box and we´ll be able to run at will.

We can´t do all that with Jimmy because the entire galaxy knows he can´t throw deep

He's spent his entire career playing inside a burning dumpster fire. No run game, piss poor OL play and he's still been able to put up big numbers and lead a perpetually overmatched Lions team to wins. Talent wise he's just flat out superior to Garoppolo and any QB that the 49ers have had since Steve Young. He has the ability to fire the ball out at any angle, off his back foot, make throws across his body, throws a very good deep ball down the field, he's also willing to stand in the pocket and take a big shot ala Beathard but he's a flat out better passer in every way. His accuracy in the short area can be a little more hit or miss than Garoppolo but he makes up for it by his ability to attack any part of the field, forcing defenses to cover the entire field, horizontally and vertically. Shanahan would take care of the running game part.

Where is the deep wide wideout? Don't have one presently.

Some guy named Brandon Aiyuk.

Have you seen him getting wide open on deep routes?..... I have and I have seen him getting frustrated with Jimmy after the play because he didn´t throw him the ball..

Do you think that Deebo is only a gadget player?....... I know he isn´t but he has to play that role because we don´t have a QB that can make a freaking 15-yrd throw.
I want Jimmy to be the guy but if we can have Stafford I'll easily take him. Stafford is by far more talented and will force a d to play the whole field. Won't be shocked if he wins an MVP if he had Kyle calling plays, dude would finally have a running game and a d worth a damn where he won't be forced to drop back 50 times.
Not sold on Stafford...not sold on Jimmy, either. I'd rather see them draft the best QB they can get, keep Mullens. They also need to invest in the interior OL. We haven't had a true stud C since Newberry. If they cut Jimmy only to trade for Stafford, another negative in my mind is his cap hit is well beyond Jimmy's. Why cut one QB only to sign an even more expensive vet, who'll be 33 in Feb. Just doesn't work for me. Assuming we don't have injuries anything close to what's happened this year, we should have a terrific running game. If they beef up the interior OL it should be even better. They'd arguably upgrade the pass protection, as well. The point is, there are several other areas of the team that need in infusion of new talent. Why eat up the better part of $30M on Stafford when they could invest that cap money into other areas...like the secondary, TE corps, KR, pass rusher, etc.

Trade that 4th and our 2nd for Stafford.

Boom done.

Jimmy has a no trade clause

False. They'd actually save money by acquiring Stafford since Detroit would eat all his remaining dead money.
Is there one legit, non-volume metric where Stafford outperforms Jimmy in his career?

There are 5 teams, 6 if you count the Eagles, that are in big-time need of a QB. At least one of them will pony up a 1st+ for Stafford. We won't be the only ones at that dance.

Eagles? Nah you can't put them on that list...they just paid Wentz and drafted Hurts

Not sure what you mean on the Where all that now comment

Kyles first year moves is not equivelent to saleh's trading for JG and a high cap contract as a bridge move (that is a bad move by Saleh)

So you're throwing out speculation based on what you feel lol? Again I didn't say Jimmy was better lol. Quit making s**t up to argue

All depends if Jimmy is willing to renegotiate that contract, like Nick Foles did when the Bears traded for him.

I also think at this stage in his career Stafford isn't just gonna be willing to sign off on getting traded to any team

I agree a 1st is what it will cost

They both suck, Mathew is what you say and gun slings it everywhere and makes mistakes, but jimmy probably makes even more mistakes , he has tons of ints but doesn't throw deep , both are horrible
