Just released. 5.5 sacks on the year. Could contribute on our thinning dline and be used as a specialist.

My thinking as well. Give him 10-12 snaps a game just get the QB kinda job.

He won't reach San Francisco on waivers, he'll be claimed far before that!!!

I just read somewhere that a player with more than 4 years of XP is not subject to waivers.

So why put him on waivers and not just outright release him? Just asking a curious question btw and not trying to disagree with you OTC.

I thought the same thing - until I saw this online in the 'NFL Football Operations' section: From the trading deadline through the end of the regular season, vested veterans are subject to the waiver process.

Correction, I had to read up on this more. If a player is cut AFTER the trade deadline, they are still subject to waivers no matter what. Interesting stuff. So yep, you're right. We have no chance at Jenkins or Suggs, lol.

I think after trade deadline everyone is put on waiver wire. Prior to trade deadline the 4 years thing kicks in.

Well if somehow he makes it to us I think we gotta go for it. I'm sure he wants to go to Baltimore but a SB with us is a nice conciliation prize.

If true this a no brainer.
I agree. We should put a waiver claim on him.
I agree. He will not make it to us.

We can only hope he does not go on to benefit a team in our way but could you imagine Suggs landing on the Niners and we end up in the SB against the Ravens? Its like SB XLVII in reverse.
Just do not end up on the cowturds or cheathawks please.

Because the Cardinals released him on Friday. It's a 24-hour business day, so Saturday and Sunday don't count.
