Josh Gordon

No thanks. Just picked up Sanders. At some point you're just screwing with chemistry.
A. Gordon will go on waivers when he is cut. No reason for New England to give an advantage to a team like KC or NO to sign him outright.

B. All players cut after Tuesday have to go through the waiver process, even vested veterans like Gordon.

C. Waiver order was updated Week 3 and now updates weekly so the 49ers would currently be second to last in waiver priority.

D. The only way the 49ers could realistically get Gordon is by trading for him. Unlikely that the Patriots would be eager to trade him to the only other undefeated team in the NFL unless the compensation offered was substantial.

Too bad they're not going by last years waiver order - we'd have a shot at him.
Nope, don't want him.
Hard pass. Maybe in the off-season.

So, give up no draft capital and get somebody who fulfills a need on this team, and if he doesn't work out we simply cut him? Ummmm, YES PLEASE.

I agree, but he'll be picked up by some other team before he gets to us in waiver wire.

Yea I think so. It would only benefit the Patriots to wait until after next Wednesday to release him, so he'll hit the waivers not land with a contender.

I bet he ends up in Oakland.
I won't be surprised when he clears waivers and I would absolutely bring him in.

I know it's unlikely, but it would be funny if he landed with us somehow and then #49ers #Patriots #SB54
