Why are the 9ers an option on the poll? Oh yeah, homers, I forgot.

Why are you allowed near a keyboard?

When you get a top pass rusher for very little it's not going to be a bad off season.

when you decide jimmy ward is your best bet at safety. then you need a lobotomy

It still amazes me that going into his SIXTH year as a Niner, fans are still spelling his name wrong.

LOL everyones under a Jimmy G spell that's why.

Jimmie Ward!!!!!

Eh, PFF says he's slightly below-average at best. Our coaching staff might know that if York wasn't too cheap to pay for the premium PFF subscription.

In seriousness, I disagree with the assessment that our 2011 dbs weren't better than what we currently have. They weren't spectacular, but they were mostly solid. You don't need spectacular DBs if you have a pass rush, but they can't be incompetent and they have to be able to work as a unit to avoid blown coverages. Improving our pass rush will help, but if coverages are still being blown, the defense will still suck. See the Chiefs last year for an example of that. They had 3 of the best pass rushers in the league last year, but couldn't stop anybody.

The only good reason to bring Ward back is his versatility, but he's still just a backup quality player.

Even Earl Thomas wouldn't be able to mask how terrible our #2 CBs have played. Sherman doesn't get tested. The other guy just gets roasted.

We may need better safety, but it's hard to tell when they're constantly being pulled to bail out our pathetic CBs. Our safeties never stood a chance. Spoon isn't very good. He's improving, but he has a long way to go before you can consider him reliable.

I don't necessarily love the Ward signing, but I don't think Earl would've made a tremendous difference either. Verrert is the guy that can fix this thing.

Bringing Ward back at $5M... I've got no problems with that. That's peanuts in today's game.

Is it possible that the only reason the niners missed on Amos is because they were all in on Thomas, but then Thomas refused to allow team protections against injury or retirement (first 2 years fully guaranteed) and the niners smartly couldn't accept this, and by the time Thomas signed elsewhere, there was no one left at FS worth a damn? No, signing HaHa just to sign him doesn't help our team. You got Colbert, Moore, or a draft pick playing FS this year.

There were no reports I saw that we were even that interested though. I think Lynch was trying too hard for Bell or he was just sleeping.
I think the answer is OBJ and Bell. OBJ seems to be having more fun.

As for front offices doing well? That is now only an guess that can only be answered in time.

And I still think you can't polish a turd(brown).

Mythbusters proved that you can!
I think we had a solid offseason. Added some playmakers (as long as they can stay healthy, but that goes for every person on the roster) and we still have 6 draft picks this year to add good talent.

Barring injury, it should be a fun year.

I'd say the Browns but I'm worried about them come the season. They got a new coaching staff and they arent used to being expected to win. But they have so much talent it's like they should win by default.

Yeah but it's Cleveland so they won't!
It's the Browns, Jets and Raiders. They were in a tier of their own when it came to this free agency.

Browns are definitely having the best offseason. Probably, the favorites in the AFC North.

That's probably more reflective of the kind of impact Jimmie has had on this team and on the fanbase over the last 5 years. Which is to say, very little.

Bruh, Dee Ford alone makes this off season a win.
