I'm down. Ross playing the role of decoy while never catching passes would still be a far more valuable contribution than what Pettis is bringing to the table.

Well it gives them another receiver with a fresh attitude and fresh start. Less money too

What is Ross giving them right now that makes him significantly more valuable than Pettis? He has 2 catches for 17 yards. He's been a healthy scratch for 3 games. They clearly aren't going to be keeping him long term, may as well take Pettis with another season on his deal and see if they can get anything out of him.

Agreed. Kyle can use the decoy and the Bengals passing game lend more towards Pettis's "strengths" of going deep. I don't think either will be productive but It's clear the speed deep guy is a piece Kyle likes to have. Austin and Nelson being brought in were clear attempts.

Both are not good, tbh. We are going to pay Ross more to sit on the bench just like Pettis does.

Yeah but one has 4.2 speed and one doesn't and this offense is lacking that legit deep threat. Even as just a decoy, Ross would bring more to the table.
