He has coffee breath.

Hahah. Kicking like Jacky Chan?

You guys think he will take a discount to play in a Dallas? He doesn't seem the type.

WRs simply do not impact the game like elite pass rushers. And spare me the "...but Burns!". Not even close to the same tier.

#2 pick? It's a no for me, dawg.

Agreed. I'd be open to discussing everything else except the #2 pick.

Same...#2 isn't for sale not until draft night and we know Bosa is gone.

I'm all for throw out future picks for proven all-pros though

It would be insanely irresponsible to trade our chance at Bosa, the perfect player for our most desperate need, for a luxury item like OBJ. I cant believe how willing and impulsive people are to give up the best player in the draft.

How often does the best player in the draft end up not meeting expectations in the NFL? Far more often than ever having an opertunity to trade for a generational talent that would give the team that popularized the WR position some much needed star power. We can still pick an edge rusher at # 6

No.. get rid of AA to bring a pass rusher in here which we have zero of right now. AA is easily replaceable and if you don't think so we will have to agree to disagree on that one.

I don't think so, in that case agree to disagree. I think people are still basing their views on Armstead off what he was two or three years ago, not what he is today which is a pretty good big end and a high quality run stopper. He's improved meaningfully, not shocking for a guy that originally came in as a huge project.

Its possible to accept that he was both the wrong pick then but is now a player that has improved considerably. He was the second best DL behind Buckner.

I don't think you insert some random DL into his place and replace his performance from this past season. He actually did a good job and could very well be worth keeping long term if he continues to show progress.

Exactly, but he's not a PB/AP player, so he's trash because he was a 1st round pick and all 1st round picks that aren't day 1 studs are garbage don't yah know?

Where'd you read that?
Sure AA improved. One full year out of 4 years.. awesome..

Over $9 million for one year for him is still way to much..

My statement still holds true.

We have ZERO @ pass rush and AA is more easily replaceable then a pass rusher.
Rid AA, free up the cash and sign a pass rusher, also draft one and sign ET..

No one can deny that this doesn't make sense

Our defense would be improved over the last couple years even with baldy running it..

That's the kinda mediocrity I'm used to this team signing right there.

Nicks a good player.

So good a pass rush needy team massively overpaid and signed two replacements and cut him

He's been injured the last 2 seasons. Prior to that he was a very good player as reflected by the contract they gave him. Injuries happen. If he can get and stay healthy he's a stud for someone.

I didn't see any rumors before Alexander agreed to contract terms. So, I'm hoping they're being secretive while hammering out contract details with Thomas, too.

I'm still holding out hope for this too. Everything has been pretty tight lipped so far.
roby to texans 1 year 10 mill
It's been a relatively boring first couple days so far. We don't hear much at all with the Niners.... last year there was so many damn rumors. Even though they were just rumors, it was still fun

This is exactly what I was talking about. A young player actually shows progression and real improvement but you're already wedded to your talking points and are still judging him based on what he was, now what he is now.

If he continues to play well, he could very well be worth an extension.

If you're using a high pick on an edge rusher, it doesn't make much sense to drop a whole lot of money on one in FA. You only have one player at Leo on the field at any given time. Its probably why they were going after Suggs. If you think you're getting Bosa, Allen or Burns, you're looking for depth, not a starter.

I wonder how many of these guys will end up being cut in 2 years.

18 million a year for Trey Flowers?? Highest paid DE in the league.

Trent Brown gets 66 million.

Anthony Barr gets 13.5 million with 33 guaranteed.

The Packers went full out crazy. Billy Turner got 28 million over 4. Preston Smith and his 4 sacks got 52 million with 16 guaranteed. Amos got 9 mil a year. And they top it off by giving 16.5 mil a year to Z'Darius Smith. Unreal.

Thomas Davis gets 10.5 mil a year.

Landon Collins got 84 million with 32 guaranteed.

51 guaranteed for Mosely.

14 mil a year for Mathieu.

12.75 mil for Ja'wuan James??

13 mil for Funchess?

These GMs have lost their minds.
