Jalen Hurd-IR-Baylor is waived

Tebow should have switched to the H back or tight end early in his career when it became obvious that he wasn't an NFL QB. He wasted whatever career he could have had by trying to play baseball. He never got out of the lower level of the minors.

I think at this point, the only realistic upside is that he can be a decent #4 or #5 WR. I don't think he'll ever live up to his draft status.

Perhaps he's willing to be a power running back (again), not that it would do his body any favors, but at least he's done that in college and was good at it. He does have size going for him so if he can learn to use his body, then using precise route running to create separation is less critical to his success as a WR.
Nothing but faith in this guy.
Athleticism > Everything else. Don't buy too much into the "repetition" and "experience" stuff when it eventually comes down to matchups someone like Shanahan can (or can't) create to get a car running.

Simply impossible to know what athleticism he still maintains after the injuries. Same with someone like Bosa. Until we're getting good reports against live bodies regarding these guys, we're just waiting. But these days, some guys are coming back more athletic than when they were injured.

People need to expect to get zero out of Hurd. If that is your expectation, you wont be disappointed.

Athleticism matters to a degree but the best WRs in the NFL have generally tended to be excellent route runners. You can be an excellent athlete and a tremendous route runner which is even better but there's a certain degree of skill required to succeed. Unlike in college, a WR isn't going to just out-athlete most NFL defensive backs. They're too good, defenses are too smart, it's a major reason why so many souped up college receivers fail to make an impact at the next level.
I check this thread periodically for the comedically over the top reactions to this dude from both sides.

Would you rather have play WR AJ Jenkins, Rashuan Woods, Jalen Hurd or Amber Heard?

Hurd has done about as much as jenkins or woods.. actually woods had a great pre season game once and hurd has not done that yet. .what good his his so called alleged potential if he never sees the field. since we our current wide out corps is underwhelming past deebo and brandon.. of course he stays for another pre season just to see if he can take advantage of a opportunity

how about we stop drafting high risk injury players. What a novel idea

Yeah, but it's better than hoping for Tim Tebow at TE.

Lol at least Tebow Is out there working and getting after it. I think I'd rather have Tebow in a heartbeat over Turd.

LOL. In what world is being out of the league for six seasons considered "getting after it" after a token camp invite from a former coach?

And I don't get and I'll NEVER get the motivation to s**t on injured players, as if tearing an ACL was a choice.

Hey this is a business buddy. Welcome to the real world.
there's no motivation to s**t on , it's a fact of life. If you cannot perform your job then time to move on. It's pretty obvious they want to try to mold him into a playmaking WR , but his body (& he's got a history back to college) says else.

and yes Tebow has been quite active. Playing baseball, still in freakish shape. Not continuing to get hurt time after time. It's obvious they are bringing him in for something else, and I wouldn't expect much. Then again it's also a sham to say Tebow can't do it. He went from not playing baseball in 12 years to making his way up from low A ball to Triple A. That's no easy feat.

Sorry if you can't read between the lines but answer me this: what has Hurd brought to the table? Nothing. Has he been healthy. Nope.
It was a facetious statement.

if I was a betting man and had to bet on who's make it through camp I'd bet on Tebow over Hurd in a heartbeat. That's a pretty fkn accurate statement since Hurd can't stay healthy and that's not s**tting on him it's hard truth. I'd s**t more on Shanahan for drafting him given his laundry list of injuries.

I just don't see it and not holding my breath on Hurd. We need guys that can stay on the field and get in to the mix to contribute.

As much as he's been a bust these past years, I'm still a big fan of Hurd. I'm still pulling for him to be a good player for us. But he's running out of chances- it feels like this is his last chance .

Realistically yes. He be an excellent player if he can get out on the field.
