Yup (i think Lawrence got one today) this kid or graham are the guys I'm looking at in FA...I don't think any of the big name guys make it to free agency.

Trey Flowers is a guy to watch too IMO.

Desperate for pass rush without thought to how said player fits in scheme and talent he would be playing/plays with

I'm in on Smith to pair alongside Bosa or Polite.
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said the "jury's still out" on re-signing impending free agent OLB Za'Darius Smith.

Coming off an 8.5-sack season, DeCosta fears Smith's market will be "out of control," but he is holding out hope a strong crop of pass rushers will keep Smith in the Ravens' price range. "We're optimistic we may have a chance to bring him back, but in some cases, it's really not up to us," DeCosta said. "It's up to what the market bears." With C.J. Mosley's contract also up, it is clear the Ravens are not going to get in a bidding war for Smith, likely meaning he will be playing somewhere else in 2019.

It will be a matter of the price. He is top 15 in pass rush, average run defender.

Given what guys like Telvin Smith got, he will be in the $11M/yr range. Is he worth that much as a situational pass rusher who is a relatively weak run defender?

If we land either Bosa or Allen, I am not handing Z Smith a four year/ $50M deal.

Would love him! Underrated player for them and in the league. I honestly don't think he hits the market though for some reason

Reminds me of when Seifert signed Roy Barker, a LDE from Vikes. Unheralded and thought of as a run stuffing 7-9 sack a year guy- dude was a monster for us !!!!! I'd like to see us get this guy and a guy like Shaq Lawson at SLB, they'd both come in reasonable $$$$, but have a helluva impact!

Telvin smith? He's an off ball linebacker...not sure what he has to do with za'darius? He's a edge rusher that can play inside or outside. FA is gonna happen before the draft so we will have no idea if we land Bosa/Allen

I'm only using Telvin Smith as an example of the kind of money Z Smith is going to be offered in FA. Telvin is not going to have the same impact as a pass rusher who is also a 3-down guy, yet he is the second highest paid 4-3 OLB at $11.1M/yr.

Given the fact everyone is looking for ER pressure, I fully expect Z to hit at least Telvin numbers. The new Raven GM said as much.

By the time FA begins the combine is over and Lynch will have a very clear map as to who he could draft and how to play the FA market for top guys. We will know for certain that we will get either Bosa or Allen, if we want either.
