Lynch and Belichick working behind the scenes
They are probably trying to trade him because they know he isn't long for the league. He may be a one and done type player. So trade him now before he retires and you get nothing.
His health is the reason I think there's some substance to the trade rumors. The Pats know when to dump players and it's no secret that Gronk has some lingering back issues. I'd be surprised if he plays more than 2 seasons.

Im sure this has been discussed but i didn't see it here. Could someone help me out? Assuming the Giants were looking to trade OBJ. My questions are why first of all, and second, has he completely recovered from that brutal ankle injury?
If so, how is everyone so confident hes going to be the same player? And for what its worth I say no to both Gronk and OBJ.

A broken ankle isn't devastating as if he tore his knee, Achilles or had nerve damage. I have no doubt he'll be the same player, it's the asking price from the giants, his asking price and the off the field is what makes teams pull backOriginally posted by NinerG94:Im sure this has been discussed but i didn't see it here. Only way I want Gronkowski is if the price to obtain him is low. Like others have said, I don't trust his health going forward.

2 trades:
49ers-Pats
#9, 5th round pick, future 4th and Garrett Celek to Pats for #23, 31, a 2nd rd pick and GRONK
49ers-Giants
#31 a 3rd this year, a 2nd next year for OBJ
Niners would then have OBJ, Gronk and still would have a 1st round pick & two 2nd round picks this year giving us flexibility to move up in the first if we want.
49ers-Pats
#9, 5th round pick, future 4th and Garrett Celek to Pats for #23, 31, a 2nd rd pick and GRONK
49ers-Giants
#31 a 3rd this year, a 2nd next year for OBJ

I don't want Gronk so an easy vote for OBJ.

People would stop talking about the Rams, that's for sure.

LOL. The first trade is as unrealistic as they come! I commend your enthusiasm though.

How far off am I do you think? I'm not really a draft pick value chart guy. Would another 3rd make it realistic?

Extremely.
Based on the value chart, our 9th pick is essentially worth the Pats 23 and 31.
So if the first round part is a wash, your trade proposal is our 5th, a future 4th a d Celek for Gronkowski and a 2nd rounder....basically not even close my friend.
