Kittle fully healthy and having jimmy all year would've put up beastly rookie numbers, he's definitely a keeper. Would love to add another TE like gronk and Hernandez years ago. We would kill the rams no name linebackers with TE'sOriginally posted by boast:the Boston writer is a dumbass
"In terms of the most likely team to deal for Gronkowski, everyone agreed the 49ers would be the ideal trade partner. 'Put him back with Garoppolo, they have nothing at tight end, they have the cap space ($46 million) and maybe Lynch will overpay to make up for the deal Belichick gave him on Jimmy,' one AFC general manager said. 'And you don't have to worry about Gronk in your conference.'"
uhhh...
How did George Kittle's rookie season stack up compared to some of the game's best TE's in their first year?

He's oft injured lately. His body is wrecked. That's why he's contemplating retirement. The team is trending younger not older and broken down.

If we are talking equal compensation (say one 1st round pick) I am going with OBJ all the way. OBJ should be playing at a high level for the next 5 years while we would be lucky to get 2 healthy years out of Gronk. If we are talking about only a mid round pick for Gronk.... well then why not both? Even the Rams could not match up against that offense.

Gronkowski would be amazing. Becsuse we could mismatch everywhere on the field and put teams in a pick your poison situation. BUT he doesn't want to play football anymore. And he's injury prone. You give up capital for a guy who is retiring and you just lose

Do not get Gronk. What is the point? He doesn't love football anymore. Going to jump to retirement as soon as he gets his money

We'd have a beastly 22 personnel. Run/Pass good luck stopping us.
This. A Hernandez/Gronk look for us w him and Kittle was what I was thinkin bout. I agree w CC, no higher than a 4th for him. His retirement talk and injury history does concern me greatly tho.

I'd rather just stick with Kittle.

Also, if a trade really was gonna happen, I believe it wont, but for the sake a arguement, no to Odell, the price in comparison is waaay too high.

instead of trading for Gronk , and getting maybe the last 2 seasons of his career (if we are lucky) ..why not draft Dallas Goedert out of South Dakota St , he's got talent and a huge upside , plus Kyle could put him in the slot and create mismatches all over the field , it would be cheaper, and we would get more production , plus a Kittle & Goedert 22 set would be tough to defend

Gronk would have to tell Lynch and Shanny that he's all in before Lynch even thinks about trading for him. There is no point in making such a move for him to retire on us before the season even starts.
You also have to consider the compensation too. Anything more than a 4th round pick and I'd pass because he's the GOAT when healthy, but he's always hurt these days and that's the main reason why he's thinking about stepping away. One small injury during camp and he might say screw it and quit.

Jimmy G to Gronk would be deadly especially in the red zone

Without no doubt. Regardless of what people say, Gronk will always be a threat, and if we get him, expectations will be SB!

Gronk + Kittle would be a great duo! And Kittle as the heir-apparent is already in the fold and a good option anyway when Gronk inevitably gets hurt.
