Tyrod Taylor

Not sure why everyone hating on this move the Browns just seriously upgraded at QB by now having mediocre QB play.

Yup. When you're coming off an 0-16 season and you can get a guy like Taylor then you do it.

Mediocre qb play should come at far less of a price than 65th overall

a 3rd round pick is way too costly for someone like Tyrod. nothing more than a 5th should have been traded. Bills ran away with a deal.

On the bright side, this might compel Bills to trade up for a QB! send us their 2 first rounders and they can pick a QB that falls to the end of the top 10 like Mayfield or Jackson

Not at the cost of a high third rounder. You can get mediocre quarterback play In free agency. Money isn't an issue for the Browns. Draft picks are too valuable.

Looks like it's Barkley at 1 and Fitzpatrick at 4 now..?

They haven't been able to get mediocre play in free agency for years. They've been getting nothing but terrible play .
Excellent move. They get a stopgap vet that can make them remotely competitive and allow their rookie QB (and Kizer) to sit.

Smartest thing they've done in a while. Taylor and Landry make them significantly better on offense.

THIS. Is solid thinking.
Many thought GM Dorsey would bring stability and common sense WRT player acquisition...so far, I'd say the jury's still out. I get trading for Landry, but two picks? Taylor for a 3rd rd pick? Browns have a ton of picks...and they're using them. Just not sure what their plans are at QB...I surely don't see Kizer or Taylor as the answer. Hmm...
Does the acquisition of Tyrod clue us in at all as to who they're drafting? Tyrod's "style" is most like....Allen's?

They can easily trade down with their high 2nd round picks and recoup the lost draft pick in these trades. And then they can snag a combo of Barkley (RB), Allen (QB), Oliver (CB), and trade down to snag BPA at OT along with addressing needs at LB and WR.

A core of Barkley, Taylor, Landry, Gordon, Njoku, and Coleman has Jackson and Haley salivating at the opportunity to attack defenses.

Besides, they are trading for proven commodities vs. rookie unknowns. For a team that went 0-16, it's good to bring in those proven vets.
Welp, they traded Kizer to the Packers for CB Randall. Looks like they picking a QB at 1 or 4

I don't think Tyrod is a proxy for who they want in the draft. He's a proven mid-tier QB. Darnold, Rosen, Allen, and Mayfield all make sense as targets for them as they have higher upside to Tyrod.

Not doubt. Was just thinking that maybe, just maybe they were trying to establish an offensive identity and Tyrod fits that mold. Then draft an understudy who would take over in a year - wouldn't have to change the calls or the scheme.

But the I remembered it was the Browns- and how stupid it was of me to even think there was a plan.
