An OBJ trade would likely be a draft day thing, like Cooks last year.

Cooks was not a draft day trade, he was a March trade...

My bad...must have been thinking of another deal.

Darrell Jackson to the Niners lmao

I take it it's a no from your side for a 1st and 4th? (The one schefter speculated on). Now if the contract was more around 17mil would you be more inclined to, or is that #9 the sticking point? I go back and forth...but I think I'd do it.

Personally I'm not giving a 1st (unless we trade down and have like the 20th pick) draft picks are gold now the way players are getting paid....people forget how cheap these players are with the new rookie pay scale.

NY has had OBJ on the books for around $2.5 million per yr the past 4 seasons lol. Add in the 5th yr option and it pushes it to a whopping $3.76 per yr (over 5 yrs)....that's insane.

Nah I'm not giving up a top 10 pick....2 seconds sure there's something to talk about there.

We will see what happens I doubt he leaves NY end of the day, Maybe a team with a low first and a ton of cap space like the titans do it

He's not getting traded. But he's easily. And i mean easily worth a 1st round pick. You know how many teams waste first rounders trying to find a guy like OBJ every year? How many guys from the first round that bust?

It's crazy how people on this board try to completely undervalue OBJ. he's a legit superstar and top 2 WR.

He's a legit superstar, no doubt. But not all 1st round picks are created equal. Yes, teams pick busts throughout the draft. But the bust rate for non-QBs in the top 10 is much smaller than that in the 20s or 30s. It's easy for a team like the Patriots to give away #32 for a WR1, because in all likelihood they're not giving up a Pro Bowl player. But if you're drafting a non-QB in the top 10?

The Niners would essentially be trading one of Barkley/Chubb/Nelson/Ward/Landry/Edmunds/Smith (and more, reportedly) for OBJ's contract. I wouldn't do that deal.

I understand you didn't say the Niners should trade #9 straight up (maybe you did I just didn't read it). Just saying...

Well if Sammy Watkins is getting 16 million then he has a legit beef to be looking for 20 million a year.

I'm sure some team will give him the agent-version of $20M, that in actuality, is closer to Evans/Brown in real money.
Odell Beckham scored 37 TDs in his first 45 career games. Jerry Rice (40), Randy Moss (40), and Rob Gronkowski (38) are the only 3 players in NFL history who caught more TDs in that span.
This would be a super exciting trade, but unfortunately, this new regime is fairly conservative and is trying to clean up the image of the organization. I doubt they bring in ODB with the recent cocain and marijuana video on the internet. I also don't think the 49ers want to give up any major draft capital right now. They seem intent on building for the long term. They are like the anti-Rams.

Schefty just said that he could see a trade happening for a 1st and 3rd
No way this organization would trade for OBJ even if they didn't have to give up a 1st. That's way too risky for our risk adverse FO.

Hopefully Giants get Paraag'd

Has OBJ been arrested before? Judging from some folks here it's as if he's Aldon, OBJ's only problem if it's really a problem is that he's always in the scenes and partying. There has never been rumors that he's a cancer and teammates hate him, if the price is right there's no doubt we should go after a top 5 player

Arrested no... Caught on video with coke and weed... yes. Unless people think that is just sugar and tobacco he's doing in bed with a french model.

And there are a ton of articles about him being a "me first" guy and his antics wearing the team and organization thin. Having meltdowns after games and ditching the team afterwards to the point team personnel have to go find him and bring him back... then there are the sideline meltdowns that we get to see and his fights during games that really accentuate that "team first" attitude of his. There is also the boat trip before the playoff game they got blown out in, retweeting critical tweets about his coach at the time (even though Macadoodledoo did suck).

He's not Aldon Smith, but he's not a great team presence either. There is definitely a chance he turns it around, but how many "you cant tell me nothin" types ACTUALLY change before their behavior causes some harsh consequences?

There's a reason the Giants are floating him as trade bait even though they are about to draft their next franchise QB. When was the last time a team took a QB in the top 5 and tried to trade arguably the NFLs top receiver and their only legit playmaker...
