Josh Gordon off waivers?

I don't think this has anything to do with weed

No. Supposedly, he hurt his hamstring in a promo photo shoot that had nothing to do with team. He didn't disclose it right away to the team so I guess that broke their back. Weird...all these years of his substance abuse and the deciding factor is the hammy strain under non team activity conditions.

Why trade. Just wait until he's cut and give him an incentive laden contract.

Because someone will trade for him. He's not going to be cut. It makes zero sense for Cleveland to cut him.

If traded, the new team completely absorbs the remaining money on his deal and the Browns get some compensation back, even if that turns out to be a 7th rounder in 2025.

Perfect. Our FO loves guys with hamstring injuries like Jimmie Ward. Seems like a good fit

It's the Browns we're talking about

And they finally have a legitimate front office. A front office with no ties to Gordon, one that was likely fed up with his BS.

We could offer to trade them Ward or Malcolm Smith though.
I'm willing to roll the dice on him. I'm thoroughly unimpressed with the Niners receiving core other than Marquise Goodwin.
I will wager he gets cut. I will predict the market for his services soft. I hear after being suspended for basically ever, has had an awful attitude in Cleveland, unprofessional, habitually tardy, and suspected intoxication.

that makes us two of us who think this injuries drops etc. why do you even have a elite qb when you surround him with average wide outs. hopes high for pettis. and a below average line. jimmy i bet would love to have him

Yep just means he won't get arrested but he can still get kicked out of the NFL.

Because other teams will most likely do the same...he's on a $700k deal for the rest of the yr. conditional pick makes a ton of sense. Low risk high upside and you don't have to deal with other teams trying to give him more cash.
