I can only imagine how much Sean Smith and Janoris Jenkins will ask for. It's going to cost around 10-14 Mill per year for them.

I'd rather they invest that money into the DL and pass rush. With Dontae Johnson, Brock, Acker, Ward and Reaser, I think the bigger need is to be able to consistently pressure the QB. The more pressure you put on a QB, the more pressure it takes off of your secondary.

Yes, let's let the youngsters develop into the role and get a fierce pass rush to help them.

There's no question both will be tremendously paid. CB market is always high especially when you supposedly have teams with tons of cap space bidding for your services. There will be questionable over payments but that's how free agency goes

I'm mixed on Jenkins. But we certainly need a #1 CB.

I think both guys are very talented but it gives me pause also that Jenkins and Smith both played behind two of the NFL's best pass rushing defenses. A great pass rush has a way of making average corners look like pro bowlers.

Not saying these guys are average but it is difficult to grade them accordingly when they do play behind such a great pass rush. I think that is what the 49ers need first and foremost, to upgrade this pass rush.

You can easily make the reverse argument that the better your coverage is, the more people you can put in the box
For OG J.R. Sweezy, teams who've expressed interest: #Bucs, #Falcons, #Lions, #Dolphins, #Saints, #49ers, #Jags, #Bears, #Jets, others.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports "at least six teams" are interested in free agent RB Doug Martin.
The Bucs are reportedly "intent" on bringing Martin back, but he should land a big deal as the best back available in a cap-rich market. It is possible he flirts with the $8 million per year DeMarco Murray received last offseason. The Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows has reported the 49ers could be among the teams interested in Martin.

Unless you're bringing in Revis and a prime Deion, any good quarterback will be able to complete passes if they are given enough time. The Cards have been trying to put money into their secondary while ignoring pass rush and it has been their Achilles heel.
Carlos Hyde and Doug Martin.

Good, so he can't hurt our players anymore and do his dirty s**t for us. As for Doug Martin, why the hell will we spend good money on a rb!? Just draft one if we really want one or I'll risk Arian foster for a yr and not run him to the ground like Houston did

I could live with that lol
Even a total scrub like S. Wright can get 5 million guaranteed SMH. Supposedly we're in talks with KC to possibly trade for DeAnthony Thomas. That makes perfect sense as the "Darren Sproles" role in Kelly's offense (not to mention Kelly had him at Oregon). But it's nothing more than just talk at this point.

#49ers have to consider possibility of pairing free agent QB Robert Griffin with Chip Kelly.
