Worth it or nah?
Worth it
Yeah, this is one of the few deals I would have been happy to see the Niners make. Almost everyone else we missed out on, I wouldn't have wanted for what it took to get them.

Smh.
Difference is we have a huge hole at OG and bringing in someone else that's as bad as devey when you have money will and should piss people off.
I'm cool with Dunbar because we know he's not coming in to possibly start.

It's more that we are even looking at them. Why even take the time to talk to somebody literally worse than Devey?
I imagine because Chip feels he may be able to
do something with him. Even if he does sign though, I doubt he starts. Guys like him and Dunbar are at best depth.....hardly worth getting bent out of shape over.
I heard that same s**t last year man. This really does concern me for whoever the QB is.

Then I'm not sure what you're getting at, I've never said the blocking grades are garbage and think it's one of the only good uses because there's not really any better way to grade an o-lineman because there's not really any quantifiable stats at the position.
A system that grades a CB low that just won DROY and made the Pro Bowl in his first season deserves criticism. Not sure how that's hard to understand.
Big part of that grade came from surrendering a s**t ton of catches, yards and td's by said corner. Also post season awards and pro bowls are not awarded by people who watched every snap of every player eligible.
Exactly why I would love Smith. Peters was thrown at a LOT in part to Smiths guy being handled.

Keep pasting this misleading stat.![]()
Why not show us that you dont have to spend all your money in FA but STILL spend SOME of your $60 million on FAs?
Great stat by the way. I love how it totally takes into account the impact of coaching and the overall quality of an organization into account over the impact a group of FAs have on a team's win percentage.......
Once again:
Smartly not blowing all your cap space on FAs =/= Only spending peanuts on scrubs when you have more money than the rest of the teams!
It's not misleading at all. It directly shows that there is absolutely no correlation between UFA dollars spent and results on the field.
We still have plenty of time to make some smart value additions. There were very few of those on the first day of free agency, as is usually the case.

Maraath is probably still running s**t. They've become dogmatically stupid to the point where no players will sign with us. I get it, you don't want to overspend. Well how is paying Boone like 7 million a year overspending? The guy can play T and play it well FFS. I'm pretty pissed actually at this point and I'm generally pretty level headed about most things....
We're an embarrassment.

Adam Caplan @caplannfl
Chip Kelly sees Dunbar as a Darren Sproles type of player (if healthy). Mismatch for LBs.
I agree. What's the problem with Dunbar? He's a fine #3 RB.

Baalke= Joe Thomas 2.0 but Baalke is actually worse.
Lance Dunbar is a reaaaaallllyyyy good receiving back.
500 yards over 4 years is reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy good?
If healthy I could see him like theo riddick
for real, its like do people even watch football! In a chip kelly offense he is gonna be a steal
Yup he was killing it last season until he got hurt not a lot of tread on those tires...min deal
wonder where this leaves draughn, same type back as dunbar! Dunbar has more upside, but i like what Draughn did for us last year
I mean he's not on the team yet id still like to bring in Morris

Do people just not want to believe that any player with options (besides the Browns) will not want to come here? It's called free agency for a reason, the players can choose their destination. We are currently at the bottom of the totem poll when it comes to franchise attractiveness.
You will have to severely overpay (like 10-15%) for any player worth a salt to even listen

You done crying yet?
Us not signing any free agents has to do with Baalke and Marathe's budget, not the head coach. Its ALL about money. Thats how Jacksonville is able to get ANYONE.

It's 100% misleading. There's a better correlation between the quality of coaching/FO has on winning than the correlation between money spent on FAs.
