Trade for Dion Jordan ?

This. On and off the field. Thought he was overrated in college, and he's useless in the NFL.
He has a $6 million dollar cap hit next season just wait for them to cut him.

The Phins need as much cap space as possible to resign like 4 other players. He would love to go back with Chip IMO. I wouldn't take on that cap hit in a trade though....that's Anquan money.

exactly, that cap hit is too much.

I am pretty sure if he is cut, Chip will give him a chance. Chip tried to trade for Jordan the first year he was hired by the eagles but the dolphins said no so there is obviously some interest

Yeah I got no problem bringing him in on a 1-yr deal...full of talent and if we get Vrabel as DC that would help him IMO.

Some reports say that Kelly avoids guys with off the field issues like the plague. And Jordan has violated the leagues sap 3 times in his short career. Maybe the Oregon connection would sway him though.

Luckily the 49ers have already cleaned house for him for the most part.

From all the article/reports I've read on "Silicon Chip", he takes a urine sample - on the daily - from each and every player.
As reported, this was his MO while coach at Oregon, and in Philadelphia. So, my question is this: how did Jordan, pass all
those tests while playing for the Ducks?

I'm assuming his failed NFL SAP Suspensions, are for Marijuana? If that be the case, and Coach, is true to his reputation ...
then he `don't play 'dat´ !!!

This isn't true at all, your "articles/reports" are wrong

What's not true about what I posted ... please elaborate further if you will. The links are legit.
It's a FACT, that Chip Kelly tested his players daily. Fact, the interview with Irvin happened ...
So once again, please explain what did not happen ... I'm listening ???

I was a walk on during coach Kelly's final year at Oregon.
Also I don't see any links in your post.

From what I have read, he did not test for drugs, but more for hydration, if you're urine is always to yellow (dark), you may not get enough water, and the belief is that can lead to cramps and pulled muscles etc, there maybe some other things they look for, but not drugs that is what I have read. Don't know if that is true though, the NFL, he has to deal with the CBA and the union.

yeah he said in his press conference today that players had to pass a hydration test (ua sample) to practice first

it's a little weird, but seems like the thing Baalke thing to do anyways

Quest, I APOLOGISE for the confusion and not providing linkage. I should have waited until the following day
to respond ... actually in hindsight, I should have waited to make any entries (period) until the next day TBH.

When I saw your reply to my entry "This isn't true at all, your "articles/reports" are wrong", my reaction, what
did I MESS-UP now. I thought that I had my info/links correct ... had I waited, I wouldn't have to explain this now.
Sometimes I get too involved in reading threads in the Zone - in between work and life - and I tend to lose track of
the time. Being +10 hours ahead of the S.F. Bay Area time Zone ... it's a little difficult (at times), to interact when a
majority of other Zoners are online ... but that also when it best IMO.

Parts of my post in this thread, are mixed up with parts of the "FA we should target in 2016" thread. Initially when I
read your reply, I rechecked my post just see where I went wrong ... trying to figure out what you were making reference
to. It wasn't until late today, that I actually had time to sort it all out.

I never intended to provide a link in this thread. Those links, were provided in the FA Thread about Bruce Irvin (#'s 246 & 249),
hence the markups in your reply to me:

  • The links are legit.
  • It's a FACT, that Chip Kelly tested his players daily
  • Fact, the interview with Irvin happened

The only part that actually applies to this thread, is the statement made with reference to Coach Kelly, taking urine samples on-the-daily.
Prior to Chip being named our new coach, I didn't know much about him ... beyond: he coached in the Pac-12, had success at Oregon,
including his 1st 2 seasons in Philadelphia, didn't fair well in the player personnel aspect with the Eagles, and hailed from New Hampshire.

In between trying to work - and catchup on the new coach - I spent time reading some of the current and older articles circulating the
Internet about him. That is how I came about the information which stated he Piss-Test his players. I can't say for sure, if one article in
particular was written tongue-in-cheek or not ... but it gave me the feeling, that I could be wrong about him ... and maybe, he could be a
good fit for the Niners.

Unfortunately for me, the Browsers I use, are set to self clean - history, cookies, etc - when I close them. I'm not the type to make up
random sh!t, just to get reactions or whatever from other Fans ... nor was I trying to SLANDER Dion Jordan. My comment was strictly
based out of curiosity, as to how he was able to pass the Urinalysis while a Duck ... given the information I'd read about Coach while at
Oregon and Philly.

So now begins the task, of trying to remember from which website I read - what I posted - so I can enter that link into this conversation.
When I find it, I'll post that info here - as well as - in a PM to you. Having played for Chip, how do you view this hiring ... did you feel he's
flexible enough to alter his methods, and see the bigger picture ... or do you think he'll eventually revert to his comfort zone ???

Yes ... I found this out as well. That's why I was confused as to how Dion Jordan could pass, if he was Dabbin' etc.
Turns out, Chip is `Big Time´into Sport Science. Generally speaking, most recreational/experimental use of Banned
Substances, usually starts earlier than not later in life for most people.
